While this book is not as abundant in recipies as I had thought, it is well put together. Recipies are organized by catagory such as Vinagrettes and fruit based. Many are recommended to keep for only 2-4 days. The result is a larger portion than one family can have in a sitting.

The book is fun to look at and does inspire lots of tastey ideas. It would be an excellent gift for the foodie in your family.

I've owned this book for years and absolutely love it! It's full of quick and easy salad dressing ideas all of which are fantastic! The recipies are clear and concise and quite yummy! I've rarely bought bottled or store bought dressing since I've owned this book! This is a cute and informative little cookbook, and as far as I'm concerned, a kitchen classic and cookbook library staple! Enjoy!

I have made three dressings from this book so far and they are all yummy and (for me) surprisingly simple to make. Very Salad Dressing has single-handedly demystified homemade salad dressing for me. Highly recommended.

I gave this book to my lover as a gift, and he really treasures this little recipe collection. The recipes are organized in a very sensible way, and all the ones he has tried have been really delicious. Many cookbooks are full of recipes that don't sound like people would really make them, but this book is not that way--the recipes have clearly been carefully chosen. The best part is that even though this was a gift for him, he has made lots of wonderful salads for me! If you are looking for a well put together collection where every recipe counts, this is a good one! I really love the mighty mint dressing on fruit salad :)

Bought this book in Napa a few years ago and loved it. I bought 3 for x-mas for people who always enjoy my salads and are asking for the recipe.

I decided after much reading regarding healthy diet and processed foods these days, that I want to know what I am feeding my family. So, when I wanted to make my own salad dressing I turned to Amazon to see what they might have available. I found this little book, 'Very Salad Dressing,' and I like it very much. First the cover caught my eye AND so did the price. After reading several reviews on several books, I thought that this book would be a great place to start. And I was correct. It is a great little book to begin the understanding process. It is sweet and simple, organized by categories like. . . vinegarettes, or cream based, etc. These days, I feel comfortable enough whipping together a salad dressing out of whatever I have in the house. I have never been disappointed yet. I even purchased another to give as a gift and I know I will get more for gifts in the future.

Wonderful little book full of great recipes and marinades can't wait to make fresh salad dressings at home. I will enjoy this book for many years to come.

Although I'd been making my own salad dressings for years, this book allowed me to try things I would have never dreamed of trying. It is a total asset!

This little book is exactly what I needed. The recipes are easy to understand, ingredients are available in most grocery stores and the dressings taste very good.We have tried several of the recipes and found them to be yummy.This book should satify the needs of the average family cook. I like its small handbook size. It is great to have these recipes allin one place,save me pouring through larger cookbooks to find the recipe I needed and because of its small concise size it can be kept on the counter for regular use.

Grand total of 36 recipes, and even that is misleading as countless "recipes" are simply one ingredient variations.

Take a basic vinaigrette, substitute a single ingredient and give it another name. Repeat.

Real cookbooks have these substitutions as a single line suggestion after the base recipe.

Perhaps if you've never made a single dressing in your life this would be of value... but then again, so would typing "salad dressing recipe" into Google which would yield you far more diversity and creativity than what is to be found here.

Even general cookbooks that are well regarded offer more in their single dressings chapter. You're better off with one of those or doing a quick internet search than wasting your money on this extremely slight offering.
