5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
I have only once before in my life picked up a romance novel before this one (I was 14 and my gramma took it away from me) becauase I was disillusioned with the whole "romance novel" theory. But, when I picked up this book one boring afternoon at work, I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!! It is one of the most amazingly fantastic works of literature I have ever read...

In, fact it is the reason I am here on this site - looking for others like it. It has broadened my horizons and shown me that while books are categorized and stereotyped, this is one that transcends the norm!!! I SUGGEST EVERYONE READ THIS BOOK!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Romance with Humor - What a potent combination!, April 23, 2000
I loved this book. The plot itself was good, but the interaction between the hero and heroine was magnificent, and very funny! A Dance Through Time introduces some of the ideas in the book, and I would recommend reading that one first. But, this book can certainly stand on its own. (I read this book first, and I wasn't lost. But reading the first book gives you more insight into the story.) A very good book I would recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Exciting, funny and sensual without sleaze., July 31, 1999
By A Customer
I usually stay away from romance novels told from the male point of view, but this was delightfully funny; I really enjoyed being inside Alex's head throughout these adventures. I enjoyed Meg's strength and found the glimpses into her vulnerability touching; this was not the usual story of a knight in shining armour come to rescue the poor helpless modern woman, but a self-sufficient woman who would be an equal partner for Alex in any century. I did feel a bit left out, not having read the Jamie/Elizabeth story first; the science/magic of time travel was not sufficiently explained for my taste and sense of logic. But overall I really found it a great read - I'll never think of Godiva chocolate in the same way!

3.0 out of 5 stars a very sweet and funny book, February 2, 2003
This book is a sequel to "A Dance Thru Time". This is Alex Smith's story. He is the brother to the heroine from "A Dance Thru Time". Alex is bored and goes off on his own trying to find a transport to sunny Barbados only to find himself transported back in time. Here he encounters quite a few interesting characters. The one that has him the most facinated and bewildered is Margaret of Falconberg. She is a strong, self assured woman who has been protecting her keep and people by herself for far to long. She longs for a mate to help her on her journey thru life but is fearful of giving up control. She doesn't realize what a beauty she is and this makes her all the more beautiful.

Alex is a thorn in her side. He has strange ways, his speech, his mode of dress and his vow never to pick up a sword again. He has her totally confused by his actions as well. He is also effected by Margaret. He is strongly attracted to her but knows that he can't stay in her time.

This is a wonderful romance. Its funny and tender, exciting and thrilling. I look forward to others in the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Very Thought Of You by Lynn Kurland, January 22, 2005

After I read "A Dance Through Time", I was hooked. I enjoyed this book also. Sometimes one needs to travel back to a different time, and this book takes you there. I am also a bit of a history buff, and found this book quite accurate. I am not a harliquin romance fan, but these books by Lynn Kurland are of a much higher caliber. We all would like to travel back in time, even for just a moment. This book provides us with a woman warrior posing as the laird of the castle. Great escapism.

Alex is a marvelous character. It was great to read more about Jamie and Eelizabeth again from(A DANCE THROUGH TIME). I'm so glad Lynn wrote a book just for him. Margrets charachter is so believable. You can just imagine it coming true. I do hope she writes more books for the other people in the book. Zach's story would be great. I do hope she keeps writing and including characters from her other stories. I know she has joined the Mc'Cloud's and the De Piagets in The Christmas Spirits, but that book is near impossible to get hold of. If you get the chance to buy it, get it, you won't be dissapointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good! but the hero has more warmth than the heroine., March 27, 1999
By A Customer
Ms. Kurland is an excellent writer of historical romance, and this book is no exception. The story line was so captivating that I couldn't put it down. The dissappointment for me was that the hero, Alex showed more warmth than the heroine,Meg.She was also so annoying and unfeminene, it was a wonder that he was attracted to her in the first place. I did enjoy seeing Beth and Jamie reappear from the "prequel" to this book. I believe that it was " A Dance In Time." All in all, it was a very good book and I would reccommend it highly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible!!....Outstanding....great...magical..mmmmmmhhhhhh, January 23, 2006

This review is from: The Very Thought of You (Mass Market Paperback)
I needed something to read, went to Wal Mart to get my groceries and hit the book section just for a quick peek. Saw this Lynn Kurland book, read the back and debated weather to get it or the mystery I had in my hand. Oh, so glad I pick this one. I needed to laugh and that I did, I needed some magic and here it was. This is the first Lynn Kurland book I've read, and so pop into Amazon to oder another of her books, and set up my wish list with what they have.

As for The Very Thought of You....Adam, made me roll with laughter at his having to get use to 1194, then meeting Margaret of Falconberg and the rest of her keep. I like Medieval England, as long as I'm not living there, I like Scotland in Medieval Time, and with these two set together ah sweet.

OK, Margaret meets Adam a 20Th century man, with 11Th century male idea. First she thinks she's taken her enemies brother prisoner, finding out she didn't, has her hoping for a quick way out namely his death, till her head man steps, in. Finding out he's from the 20TH century well, really you can't believe that now..a bit touched in the head, but Adam tells her things that start to come true..along with sweet gentle love, Margaret surprise, surprise tries were her clothes with out battle gear, and Adam sure does notice. Well his kiss are so good, makes her inside tingle..as for Adam, why thinking of Fiona back home doesn't do anything for his libido but think of sweet Lady Falconberg in his arms, bed, home well now that's a different idea.

Cut to the chase already, take time to enjoy this book, laugh, smile and share it with friends..you won't go wrong.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Perfect Couple!, October 10, 1999
By A Customer
Oh he was a charmer alright, and she was a spirited and brave woman. I enjoyed it from early on when he could not speak french well, could not relieve himself in peace, then trying to get back to his own time only to have to return to Meg's keep when he failed, then braving the tourneys to win her hand-(of course, she enters the tourney also)-then finally returning to his time. I found this book to be a keeper. Now if someone could just tell me how I could go back in time to find MY Honorable and Charming Knight...Enjoy.
