Format: Mass Market Paperback
18y.o heroine can't believe she's marrying her aloof equestrian neighbor, marquis Hero, by default. She knows his reputation with women and is familiar with his household, unbeknownst to her family. As a result, their wedding night proved to be a trial for both of them. And that begins Hero's enthrallment with heroine's unusual character. Two weeks into their wedding, however, heroine's abduction proved to be the biggest trial of their fledgling marriage.

This was an ok read. The best part was heroine's independent, well-versed, and athletic character, which made her an unusual young wife at that time. I liked how she asserted herself while still keeping the virginal and innocent attributes typical of Cartland's heroines. But overall emotional tone was tepid and sexual chemistry was nil until the very end, which made it a mediocre read. Sex scenes are clean, generalized, and minute. It was actually a nice surprise to even have them in the book. Hero's character could've been portrayed better.**

Moderately recommended.
