Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Something terrible is hatching. The victims are all the same. Snatched from their homes and then buried alive, only to be found days later, dead, and completely stripped of their organs and flesh. The police and media suspect a serial killer preying on children, but the feds know otherwise and call on Tom Goodman, an expert in the biological control of invasive species. Something far more terrible than a human hand or rogue bear is at work in this small town besieged by death, and Goodman must figure out a way to exterminate the invader before it exterminates him and everyone around him. But to defeat the creature, Goodman must better understand it . . . and get inside its head before it gets inside of his.

4.0 out of 5 stars Scary, Creepy and a Good Read, December 28, 2007
By Mark H. Drought (http://www.geocities.com/markdrought) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Combining "Alien" and "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" with a little flavor of Stephen King, this is a great read if you want to scare the hell out of yourself. With just enough scientific information dealing with entomology to make it believable, this is a story that starts out frightening, then gets increasingly so as you go along. And unlike a lot of horror stories, where the author doesn't know how to finish out the tale, the climax at the end of this one is worth the trip.

This is fast-moving, well-written and has just enough character development to make it involving, but not so much character delineation to ruin the pace (something which King sometimes overdoes with minor characters). I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys creepy fiction, and has a strong stomach. And, someday, I think this will make a very scary movie.

It's safe to say that Lombardo shows "no mercy" in this terror saga.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read, well worth the money..., February 28, 2009
I am not normally a fiction reader, especially this type of fiction (horror). However, I found Vespa to be quite the page turner. An outstanding value for the money, a fast read, and an ending that you will never see coming. Highly recommended.

Dean Lombardo's "Vespa" (that's non-English for "wasp," not the famous Italian scooter that was named after the sound a wasp makes) is a delightfully scary page-turner! Read more
