NEO - CLASSICAL BEAUTY AND STILLNESS,

Redhhooker's VESPERS is an album of quiet, still, reverent neo-classical music. Redhooker takes its name from the Brooklyn neighborhood from which the music by this group has been inspired. The members of the group are Stephen Griesgraber (composer/conductor/guitar), Maxim Moston (violin), Rob Collins (keyboards), and Peter Hess (clarinet). The word Vespers means: evening worship. An apt title for the album. There is a spiritual, spare, uplifting, monastic beauty to the music on this album. There is also a unique and exciting newness to/in this music that has in it strains & musical influences that are: classical, ambient and chamber music. This music also has an absolute regard for, is imbued with: SILENCE. Music like this is hard to come by. The music and the musicians on this c.d. are creatively dangerous in that they are part of a new breed of a musical sensibility that is enlarging and re-inventing that which has been known up to now as traditional, classical music. I sampled and then purchased this album on Amazon. Highly recommended.
