Not Sure Of The Audience, March 30, 2009
This review is from: The Vest Pocket CFO (Paperback)
If you ever find yourself in the precarious position of leaping from checkout clerk to CFO, perhaps this book could be of some value. The book's treatment of the topics is so superficial and cursory that anyone who would even remotely be considered for a CFO position would already know 90% of all the information, and in much more depth. As such, I am very confused about the audience at which this book is aimed. I am not sure it's even useful for a freshly minted MBA who is trying to switch his career into finance. There's just not enough substance for that - and at 800+ pages, that's a feat. In addition, it could hardly fit into the vest pocket of any non-titan.
Apart from that, I also think the book is a slight misnomer. It's more like the Vest Pocket CAO (Chief Accounting Officer) since most of the topic is reference to accounting, important for sure, but only one aspect of the job.

Excellent Service!, September 2, 2009
This review is from: The Vest Pocket CFO (Paperback)
Very good definition of describing the book. I was a little skeptic considering I bought a used book. However, the book looks immaculate. It barely looks like it was used. The shipping was very QUICK. I am very satisfied.
