excellent book for beginners,

This review is from: Vestibular Disorders: A Case Study Approach (Hardcover)
I read the first edition twice and still decided to buy the second edition . Case study approach is the best way to learn . You will never get tired of exploring the cases. You will have gross view of the vertiginous patients and learn differential diagnosis. Must read for beginners.

The book seems to emphasize more neurology than ENT. There is probably a little too much emphasis on oddball causes of balance difficulty.
I also found a number of editing errors, with occasional confusion of which semicircular canal is involved, and whether there is increased or decreased activity. I don't think this detracts too much from the book, which is still a good review. From a personal perspective, I would have appreciated more in-depth coverage of test utility. Test results are always mentioned in the cases, but there is little coverage of "pearls and pitfalls" in test interpretation. From experience in using VNG, I find that the results are frequently not straightforward.

This is a most useful text especially if you're new to the diagnosis and management of vestibular disorders. It's easy to read and understand and very applicable. I highly recommend it.
