A FAST PACED CRIME DRAMA WITH A UNIQUE FLAIR,
By
This review is from: Vesuvius (Paperback)
I am an avid book reader. I enjoy reading crime novels, as well as those books that have a flair for espionage. For thirty-six years I've witnessed the other side of human existence - every day transforming from street back into home life and back again. I am glad that all I do now is read about it.
I just finished reading Alex's latest crime novel, "Vesuvius". This is my synopsis and thoughts: From experience, I knew I was in for another wild ride. A troubled police detective, Alejandro "Ali" Castillo, is haunted by his own psyche - battling each day. Although he is an outstanding detective, he has many obstacles to overcome. Busy hunting a serial killer who is actively tallying-up more souls instead of looking into his own, "Ali" throws the dice. Both with his life and that of his new-found friend. The storyline begins with a solid foundation from which Alex McDonald builds up to great heights in the end. I highly recommend "Vesuvius" to those who are both, a fan of Alex McDonald, to those who just love a good crime novel. This one will definitely get your dander up. Since I only read books which have merit, I also read author Alex McDonald's first novel, "Sawgrass". This too, was an excellent thriller with scores of twists and turns. I felt like I was on the "Cyclone" roller coaster in Coney Island. If you love "cops and robber" thrillers, you will want to place this book on your must-read list as well. Congratulations Alex. Here's to your continued success. Richie K.

Great Summer Read,

I bought this book for my husband to read while on a weeks vacation. He enjoyed it so much that I picked it up and could not put it down. Needless to say we both finished the book during the week and had even more to talk about in the evening sitting on the porch watching the sunset.
