Book Description

July 31, 2006 0330443569 978-0330443562
The Yorkshire dales have never seemed more beautiful for James - now he has a lovely wife by his side, a partner's plate on the gate and the usual menagerie of farm animals, pets and owners demanding his constant attention and teaching him a few lessons along the way. All of the old Darrowby friends are on top form - Siegfried thrashes round the practice, Tristan occasionally buckles down for finals, and James is signed up for a local cricket team. 'He can tell a good story against himself, and his pleasure in the beauty of the countryside in which he works is infectious', observes "The Daily Telegraph". 'Full of warmth, wisdom and wit' - "The Field". 'It is a pleasure to be in James Herriot's company' - "Observer".

It is a part of a bigger book " All Things Great and Wonderful" so it is cheaper to buy any book titled " All things ..."

BEWARE, I purchased this series thinking they were a continuation of James Heriot's first four but to my disapointment the publisher riped off the public by reprinted the original stories under a new title. I tryed to return them but gave up and donated them to the local library

Love love love this whole series! I cant say enough about it. i have enjoyed reading and re-reading this series for several years and there is just nothing like it. Great stories of a Vets life in the olden days of england. Colorful descriptions and comedic and gripping writting. I would suggest this book for anyone looking for a chuckle or aspiring veterinarians... like me!!
