We have a 10-year old Maine Coon-mix (male) who adopted us many years ago. His original family was an elderly couple and they couldn't care for him properly. He spends his days outside and sleeps in our garage at night. Because he's strictly outdoors, it's important for him to have good mobility and last year I noticed that he was having trouble jumping both our high fences (8 ft.) and even the small, picket fence out front. His gait also seemed stiff. Our vet recommended an acupuncturist and this doctor (she's a vet with a specialty in acupuncture and she makes house calls!)recommended the Nu-Cat Senior. The combined treatment and Nu-Cat have created excellent results! Our cat now has greater mobility and better range of motion. And he LOVES the Nu-Cat "treats" so it's no problem getting him to eat the recommended daily dose. Very much appreciate this product and strongly recommend it!

Our 11 year-old cat started losing weight and energy about two years ago. It must be part of the aging process, since the vet could not find anything wrong with her.
I decided to give her the Vetri-Science Nu-cat Senior vitamins three months ago to see if she could regain some weight and some of the energy she used to have. The results were spectacular after the first month of vitamins. Not only that she regained about two pounds, but she is more energetic and now she plays with her old toys every day. In fact she is playing so much that we had to bring out toys she hadn't used in years!
Her coat is shinier and silkier like when she was three when we adopted her. She has no problems eating them, like other reviewers reported. I am giving them to her mixed with a few of the regular cat treats. She always goes for the vitamins first!
I am very pleased with this product and I have purchased it on auto refill so my kitty never has to miss a dose. Plus, Amazon offers such a good deal with the auto refill system (no shipping charges and a discount).
I would recommend it for any senior kitties that seem to have slowed down since getting older.

I was looking for a supplement with Coenzyme 10 to try to "help" with her hyperthroidism. My cat cannot take the traditional meds so I was looking for treats with supplements that can try to help soothe they thyroid and/or reduce symptoms. The treats are relatively small and fish shaped but hard. The "hardness" may be a deterrent for cats with teeth problems but so far this has not bothered my cat. The supplement also helps ensure she gets some nutrients since she is a CRF cat and her appetite can vary. Even if she doesn't eat a lot of food she always eats these "treats". Also, I noticed her coat was softer within a few days of starting it.

My two cats, 13 and 16 years old, seem to have forgotten the malaise of old age and have been reawakened by these vitamins. They both like the flavor and take two in the morning and two at night before their meals. I'm thankful I found these. Like someone else said, the treats are a bit hard but my Maine Coon can eat them with no trouble and he's had 9 teeth extracted.

Update - my 16 year liked these for about a week but now turns her nose at them. The 13 year old loves them though. I will continue to buy them since I do think they work. It's a matter of preference by the cat.

Update 10/27/2013 - The Maine Coon gets lethargic if I run out of these. I never expected that, but he is nearly 14 and the vet says he has early kidney disease. These vitamins are the least I can do. I should mention he also gets and likes Vet's Best Hairball Relief Digestive Aid, 60 Chewable Tablets.

However the 17 year old black cat has never been sick a day and still wants nothing to do with any of this stuff. So it all just depends.

I have no idea why - but after my cat eats the 2 pieces I give him, within possibly 5-10 minutes, he throws up. I like the Vetri-Science products for my cats. Normally they really like them. My boy cat really likes the taste of all of them, including these. He's had these before -- this is the second pack I've ordered of the senior. The first two I gave him, and he threw up shortly after. The next time, same thing. The third time after he threw up, I realized that it must be these supplements because nothing else was different. Maybe I got a bad batch. But since I bought them from Amazon, and not from a pet store, I can't take them back to the store to exchange them and see if something was wrong with this batch. So... these get trashed.

Our female cat has a problem with allergies and coughing fits. I have read that vitamins are what seems to help. We have given her hairball treats and they have not worked. She loves them and will eat them, but they don't appear to be the answer. We also have a large male Siamese. He has had problems with crystals in his urine, and we thought that the vitamins may help him a bit. We have tried to give the female some of the vitamins, but she just spits them out. The male eats anything, but he spits them out too on occasion. When I opened the package, you can tell by the smell that these are different. My recommendation is to try them out and see if your cat will eat them. Just be aware that they may not if they are picky like our female cat. Also, we have tried the GNC vitamins for cats older than 7 years old. They appear to smell exactly the same and look the same but our cats reacted the same ways to those.
