Overall, I like this unit. I do have some experiences/opinions that may help you in your purchase decision:

1.While the screen size is typical, 25% larger would be GREAT!
2.Unit set up was simple, but getting a signal on the bike was a bit time consuming, but this was my first wireless. Just play w/ it prior to mounting to get an idea of magnet placement. Really, it's not too bad.
3.The option to show the same data on the top row or bottom row is wonderful. I almost picked a Topeak, but that has the clock permanently on display which I thought was lame and unnecessary since I would use that spot for data other than just a clock. Also, the similar Topeak did NOT have the frame/lap features (which are REALLLY COOL!)
4.The middle area shows ONLY your speed. Top/bottom rows can be modified to show whatever data you want - you choose. This is a nice feature.
5.If ride data is critical to you, you'll find that wireless units auto start/stop can be annoying in that you can never really "stop" the unit during use. They constantly record data if the wheel is moving.

However....this unit is superior in that:

It has a freeze frame & lap function that I absolutely think is great. When I hit that magic end of my ride (or any point for that matter), I just press the button and it captures all my ride data at that instant. Up to 10 times.

This was key to me since other models just keep going and going and if you want actual data at the end of your ride, you're out of luck since as long as the wheels are turning they keep recording data....and sometimes you just don't want data changing! In my opinion, this solves that concern.

6.It goes into sleep mode if not activated for 5 minutes. Some people gripe that after a stop greater than 5 minutes this unit does not start back up by itself. However, you can set it to "wake-up" automatically or not.
7.My suggestion is to go to the vetta site and download the manual for this so you can review it prior to purchase. Very helpful to understand how it operates prior to purchasing.
8.It did rattle on the mounting bracket, but I solved that by placing some tape between the computer and mntg brkt to make it a tighter fit. Problem solved.
9.Accuracy of odometer reading could be better...only records 1-mile increments and does not remember any partial mileage once the trip data is reset. For instance, if you rode 1.8 miles 500 times and reset the data b4 each ride, it would show 500 miles on the computer. The other 400 miles is NOT recorded. Ever. This is probably my biggest complaint. I guess you could record the actual mileage on a log sheet and keep a tally and then adjust the odometer occasionally - because it is changeable at any time. I am usually interested in time over mileage, so it's not a huge deal, but it is a bit annoying.
10.Overall, not bad for $30-$35.

I purchased the Vetta RT188 Wireless Cycling Computer to track my bike riding distance and speed. When attempting to insert the battery into the Vetta RT188, I had challenges generating enough pressure to engage the battery door to the unit. Since I did not want to damage the unit, I decided to take the Vetta RT188 to my local bicycle shop for a full installation. The installation took 10 minutes and cost $10. I asked the bike tech why I could not place the battery door on the unit. He said you need to apply direct pressure on the battery cover with a coin. Aside from the installation, my experience with the Vetta RT188 is a good one. The "without wires" aesthetics is wonderful. The operation and functionality of the Vetta RT188 is intuitive too.

Got this computer for my training bike. Took it to my local bike shop for a professional installation. They guy worked with it for a while and couldn't get it to work properly. It started reading MPH before the bike even started moving and would randomly jump up to ~46MPH. I wish I was that fast. Tried readjusting several times to no avail. Did everything the trouble shooting guide said. Maybe just a defective unit, but I won't buy another.
