Still as good as I remember.

Like I've noted this is a very well-recorded CD, the fidelity of the recording is very strong and the artistic interpretation is great.

When VH1 did their storytellers series (similar to MTV Unplugged), they had Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson just get together and play. This CD is over 10 years old, but it seems as fresh as today.

Willie and Johnny show their friendship. It seems an unplanned set with two old friends. They seem to be glib and having a good time playing their music and telling stories.

For the hour of play time this CD has, Johnny Cash is still alive and playing. This is how we should rememember Johnny and Willie..laughing and having a bood time

VH1 Storytellers: Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson

This CD recording is a live recording of two country music legends pickin' and playin' some of their songs. This is done in an around situation where the audience is really up close and personal with the musicians. The two artists swap songs back and forth for an hour's worth of wonderful entertainment. The atmosphere is relaxed, just like you'd have at home if you could get both of them to play for you. They swap not only music , but stories as well, making this a fascinating look into the artistry of both players in a relaxed situation.

You can feel the camaraderie, and the tenderness in some of the songs, the determination of both artists as they play. The songs in this relaxed situation are more for entertainment, so at times the voices are just following one another ever so slightly. The harmony of the guitars is wonderful as they compliment each other like two old friends playing together for most of their lives.

The music is relaxing, enjoyable, entertaining, and insightful as they give a bit of history behind how the songs had come to be. The CD very interesting and very well-recorded. The voices are strong, vivid, and natural. You get the feeling that you're right there with them as they sing and reminisce as they play on.

If you like the artistry of Johnny Cash or Willie Nelson you will be very pleased with this CD, but remember this is a friendly relaxed session of two old friends just swapping memories, playing songs from well-seasoned careers, giving the audience and hour of we pick, yet we know not what we pick, with no planned program.

Like I've noted this is a very well-recorded CD, the fidelity of the recording is very strong and the artistic interpretation is great. For a very entertaining hour you will enjoy a look back into history of two country music legends.

Our family loved the informal banter and the songs that were not necessarily just the old favorites. The CD makes you feel like you are sitting around a campfire with Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson, swapping stories and songs.

You'll enjoy this album.

It is mostly their voices and guitars and is not not over produced.

What's to say in twenty words? I really like it!

My husband had this special Johnny Cash & Willie Nelson - but in a cassette form. The cassette wore out, and I was quite happy to find the same record in a CD format. He was very happy.

Thanks,

Joan
