This C.D. is definately on my top five list albums of all time! I really enjoyed Via Satillite, definately a wonderful follow-up to Famous, another great album. I can't say anything bad about it, it is so awesome you'll have to listen to it to really understand.

Super Deluxe, stationed in my hometown of Seattle, Washington, is one of the best bands to ever grace the Alternative-pop scene, or just the music scene, period. Unfortunately, not alot of people know about them, but regardless, their music is amazing.

On Via Satillite, check out, #3 (Farrah Fawcett), #8 (What's up with me), #11 (Half Asleep), or #13 (Suicide Doll) for some of that Posies-pop that Super Deluxe is "famous" for.

And don't forget, #1 (You're pleasure's mine), #4 (Love Liquid Wrap Around) and #9 (One in a million) one of my personal favorites, some totally enjoyable psychodelic rock that speaks for itself.

As for the more guitar driven songs, #2 (Lost in your failures) and #10 (New Variations) they shine as well as the rest of the album. And for a special treat, #14 (Years Ago) and #6 (Commonplace) are basically the ballads, beautifully written and performed. Every song on the album is great!

The lyrics are extremely well done, and the song writing is amazing. Braden Blake has the most beautiful voice, expressing levels of emotion that is unparalleled to any other artist I've heard. John Kirsch, Chris Lockwood, and Jake Nesheim round out the quartet, and each one plays an essential part in this wonderful Seattle band. Buy their album, and I promise you...you won't be disappointed at all.

I really do love both of the Super Deluxe albums that were put out. They're both fantastic works of music and it was really unfortunate that themselves and Green Apple Quick Step came about near the time of the "Death" of Alternative music. These were more sonically comfortable albums than some of their Seattle predecessors and showed great promise.

That being said, I also have to admit my bias. I've got a special affinity for this album as it also contains work by my brother on keyboards. He became friends with Super Deluxe while playing in the Seattle scene with his band, the Amatuer Lovers, and it made it easy to become a fan of these bands as well.

They just make good pop music. It kind of transcends genre and style, as it really doesn't fit into a category all that well. It's too clean and polished sounding to be "grunge" or "alternative" from the same era, but comparitively too "experimental" to also be considered "rock." I almost consider it to have qualities of 70's Pop music as it's very accessible, it sounds like something that you may have heard before, and now, it just makes me feel nostalgic.

If you haven't heard any of Super Deluxe's CD's, check them out. They're great.

Pure pop bliss, thy name is Super Deluxe. I LOVE this album! Braden Blake looks like he's custom-built for screaming teenyboppers and their secret showerhead escapades.... but once you hear his voice and lyrics, you realize there's substance bhind the style. Standout tracks are "Farrah Fawcett", "Your Pleasure's Mine", and "Loce Liquid Wraparound." My personal favorite, however, is "Years Ago." Released in the summer of 96 as a bootleg track on Seattle's 107.7 The End (late of "Real World" fame), it was immensley popular for quite a while and is still one of their best-known tracks. It's the most beautiful piece of balladry I've heard in a while, and Seems to touch everyone differently. The band only recently came to national light with an appearance on "The Real World Seattle"-- you know, the episode where Rebecca sang Alanis songs at some concert. I like Super Deluxe better than Rebecca, personally. But then, the only things I like more than Super Deluxe are Ani DiFranco and Ben & Jerry's Phish Food ice cream. If you are actually reading this review, then you must already have some interest for the band. I am not sure they are still a band now, but for the time that they were playing, they were great. Living in Seattle, I was able to catch a few of their shows. They are a great stage band. Their lyrics were entertaining and their tunes were catchy. Seattle critics catagorized them as a pop band, but I say they road the border between punk and fun. If that equates to a pop band, then so be it. I think Super Deluxe is refreshing to listen to now (my copy of Via Satellite ended up in the wrong hands when my car got broken into awhile back, so finding it again recently was a bit of challenge ((didn't order from Amazon.com, should have, could have saved a few bucks))). They had a hard time competing with the hard grundge rock and gangster rap in the early to mid 90's. But with the flood of pop singing culture, I am sure they could have made a name for themselves. The question is, would they have wanted to (I think they were trying to strive for different when grundge and rap were big). I would compare Super Deluxe to other bands such similar bands as the Cardigans, Goo Goo Dolls, or even today's Wheatus. Sum up: Great band, fun lyrics, catchy tunes. Buy it.

Once again I've struck gold by picking up Super Deluxe's 'Via Satellite' CD. OK so I've had it since last summer, I still listen to it & love it. These guys are great on CD & live! They aren't like some bands that only sound good on tape. Braden & John have amazing harmonies together. Check out 'Farrah Fawcett', 'Half Asleep', 'Suicide Doll' & 'Years Ago', they are the best ones, but the entire album is amazing. I hope this helps anyone make the decision to buy this album. I have been to an absolute ton of Super Deluxe concerts and they are a band who sounds even better live then they do on the album. This is that one album that you should take a risk on even if you have never heard of them I promise that you will not be disappointed.

i have loved super deluxe since 6th or 7th grade--i've seen them live, met chris lockwood--they are the best band to come out of seattle. this cd is perfect--i thought they couldn't top famous, but they have--this cd is amazing.

Super Deluxe's follow up CD is full of incredible music. They are the masters of pop rock. Blessed with an impressive range, from love songs to hard punk songs, this CD is full of catchy hooks and cool choruses. Everyone will love the song, "Years Ago." It combines the tearful loss of love with Braden's strong voice. All in all, this CD does not miss a beat. It's a testament to Seattle rock.

And Super Deluxe is just that. Just because they were not in the grunge scene, they were overlooked and thus have never signed a huge record contract. But, this is a band with some of the most catchy sing along good feeling songs I've ever heard. The best song on the cd has to be "Years Ago" just because I say so. But every song on this cd is a winner. Listen to "Love Liquid Wraparound" and "New Variations" and you will see what I mean. This band is worth every penny you pay, and for $12.99, this cd is relatively dirt cheap, SO PICK IT UP MAN, what are you waiting for?
