This product is just a kit for collecting and sendingsaliva to a laboratory. They do not inform you that the assay for determining the ApoE4 result costs an additional $395.00. There is a disclaimer in the fine print, but they should disclose the full cost for obtaining the test results. In addition, a positive with this test means that an individual has an increased risk for Alzheimer's Disease. This condition, however, is not solely a genetic disorder and this test is not a yes/no for disease predisposition. As is the case with most things medical, the truth is more complex than advertised by the vendor. |
