4.0 out of 5 stars Attempt to break into the international market, September 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Viajar (Audio CD)
Lucybell is a powerful band in many senses. Their first album PECES proved that. However this album was produced with the intent to promote themselves outside of Chile & it shows. In trying to make the most hit singles possible it lacks the rawness & the heartfelt sincerity displayed in PECES. It is still a very good album. The bands 3rd album LUCYBELL, however, is a masterpiece. It recaptures the escence that is lucybell, mainly because it was selfproduced. Still, VIAJAR is a good presenation card & i doubt anyone who listens to it will be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Viajar, October 11, 2002

I'm 25 years old, I grew up listening to spanish rock in Mexico and here in the US I started listening to it in 96. This is the band that I would recommend to anybody that likes rock I does not matter what language. Their lirics and sound are breathtaking! and that deep voice of the lead singer just melts me!. They have very little promotion in the US, but trust me. Just listen to them once and you'll become a faithfull fan too. Bien por Lubybell! I love them!!! ROCK CHILENO, DEL MEJOR!!!! - Marisela Morales Anaheim, CA.

5.0 out of 5 stars lucybell is words beyond their plain meaning, August 10, 1999

i have both peces and viajar from lucybell, and i'm glad and proud of it. Lucybell can get you in a super state of mind. You wil love the twists the songs have and the space kind of music. It's one of the most experimental bands ( and underground ) of latin america. It is well done pop, mixed with great poltry.

5.0 out of 5 stars Increible, January 2, 2004
This review is from: Viajar (Audio CD)
I bought this CD after seeing the "Mataz" video in Latin American MTV. I was surprised to like the ENTIRE album! It is a combination of both energetic and slow jam melody. If you like 1 song in this album, I bet you'll like most!

5.0 out of 5 stars The travelling band, December 28, 2003
This review is from: Viajar (Audio CD)
It's hard to choose a favourite album by Lucybell. As time goes by, I find myself liking each CD more and more. But if something has to set Viajar apart from the rest, it must be its smooth pace. They've definitely departed from the first album Peces rock sound, and you can already hear the electronic influences seeping into songs like Electrico Carino, yet it is not completely either of those sounds. It stands on its own in the history of this powerful Chilean band.
The album was recorded under the original formation and includes hits like Mataz (influenced by Jazzmatazz) and Carnaval, as well as my personal all time favourite Lcbl song: Tropezar Al Andar.

4.0 out of 5 stars Creative 90's Latin/European Rock, February 19, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Viajar (Audio CD)
For fans of Soda Stereo, Lucybell continues the genre. In as much as this is their first album, their style will only become more defined and original. Some of the productions are reminiscent of late 80's, early 90's rock from the U.S. Still, Lucybell, like Soda Stereo's music is grounded in traditional rock like the Beatles or John Lennon, which accounts for why their songs are so melodic and thoughtful. Not a flash in the pan. Watch for more.
