A pretty good opener,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Intended for people with arthritis or other hand-dexterity difficulties, this opener works completely hands-free. It uses two AA batteries, is slow and noisy, and wobbles alarmingly as it rotates around the can - but it actually does work, just as advertised!
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE: The "No sharp edges" claim is true, but *only* for the *lid* of the can. This opener still leaves a pretty sharp cut-steel edge on the main body of the can. Don't let small children or severely impaired people use this opener without supervision.

This is, by far, the most useless piece of garbage I've ever purchased.,

To be frank, writing reviews isn't something that interests me very much, but in this case, I feel especially motivated. This "can opener" is even less useful than a club would have been in the hands of a caveman, simply because it's neither heavy nor sturdy enough to bash the can open. Here's the thing: You put the thing on the can, you press the button, it spins around the can, opening it as it goes, the problem comes in when it A. Stops in the middle, forcing you to hold it in the proper position, constantly readjusting it to keep it's little metal contact depressed on the can, B. It takes a minimum of 3 revolutions to retract the cutter back far enough from the lid to remove the lid, all whilst continuing to hold the thing in position, mind you. Frankly it's faster, easier, cleaner and neater to open it with a manual can opener, and much less aggravating. All of this ignores that I returned the first one I ordered because it came stained with tomato sauce (while supposedly being new). I can only imagine it was also a return from an equally unsatisfied customer.

Waste of money,

What a waste of money. Does not only not work as it is supposed to, but it doesn't work at all. Tried on several cans and it just doesn't want to cut through (even if you help it along). Might make a good paperweight though.
