Did what I was told to find size and they fit perfect.
I have only had them for two weeks now but would venture to say they are the best athletic shoes i have ever owned.
Fits perfectly and are very comfortable.

Short story: Yes, Vibram's are awesome, they have given me a new running life, and if you've been plagued with running injuries I'd suggest trying them.

Long story: I'm 47 years old and have been a "gym rat" since high school. About ten years ago a coworker told me about a local "Mud Run" and I thought it sounded good. Knowing I' was creeping up on the 40 year old mark and knew it would be a good time to start mixing in some cardio, so I signed up.

I went to Road Runner Sports shoe store, did the treadmill foot examination thing, and left with a pair of "Stability" shoes. I started slow and built my running up to ten miles a week by the 8th week and it was at this point my ITB started giving me problems.

Being a gym rat and somewhat of an athlete who understands the body and injury I began a long process of trying to run without pain. I did a lot of research on running websites, at running stores, and read books like Chi Running by Danny Dreyer. In the following years I tried to perfect Chi Running and tried every ITB stretch routine, roller pads, ice + Ibuprofen, countless shoes, and even took 4 months off of running. And although I was able to improve my pain free running distance, I still could not run 5 miles without experiencing a lot of ITB knee pain, so much that I couldn't run more than 6 or 7 miles on a good day, and my top pace was around 8:30 min/mile.

About two years ago I read a blog from a runner who said barefoot running eliminated his ITB issues by forcing him to run with a natural gait, stride, pace, etc. I figure I had nothing to lose, I've spent a fortune on shoes and a lot of time running, stretching, rolling, and eating Ibuprofen, so I bought my first pair of Vibram shoes, the Komodo sport in 2009.

Excellent shoes. Very comfortable for walking and everyday activities. These shoes should come with a warning sign that everyone you run into will ask a ton of questions and you will become their spokesperson. Luckily for Vibram, this is an outstanding product.

Runners be Warned: Be very very careful transitioning into this shoe if you aren't accustomed to running barefoot. Your calves will get quite sore from regular use and the change of biomechanics. Everyone will need to go at a different pace. Error on the cautious side or you may get injured.

This is my second pair of these kinds of shoes. My other pair was by the other company who makes them. (there are 2 that I know of). I originally bought them because my big to rubs on my second toe and you think "so" but ----its very --extremely uncomfortable. I know it makes no sense, but trust me, it does. These solve that problem. They are awesome. The most important thing with these shoes is the FIT. THe fit has to be tight, but not too tight. You must be almost sock tight, and the toes must go in the toe "places" or you will hate these. So first things first, make sure all 5 toes get where they are supposed to go. Then you should have the heel not tight but no slipping. The heel cup is very similar to traditional running shoes, and its important that you get your foot seated in it securely. These shoes are designed to wear with no socks, but usually I wear the toe socks, but thats me.

    LIKES:
1- solve problems of toes rubbing or being jammed up as with regular shoes (in some cases)
    2- Very light, very thin
    3- good aeration
4- Outstanding in water. I wore mine fishing in a stream and walked in the water like nothing. Perfect.
5- Very comfortable--once you get the size right.

    DISLIKES:
1- Too thin on bottom, --cannot wear running anywhere because the sole is too thin--stepping on rocks etc can be uncomfortable
2- must wear toe socks if you wear socks--expensive
3- hard to get on properly (but gets easier when used to them)
4 top half is mesh or fabric, no protection when walking in woods, thick brush, or in a river etc.

The dislikes are a personal thing. Some might say "they are not made to wear in thick brush or in rivers", but they are shoes.

I cannot say enough good things about these shoes. I am active, but have never ran in shoes with a minimum to no sole before. I suggest trying a pair on in person before ordering these online. I am a 9.5 and got a 41, but everybody is different. I was worried about the length of my toes being crunched in these like most toe socks, but its NOT the case. They help align your posture, almost train you to stand/walk/run the correct way. I tried running in a minimum sole shoe for a couple of weeks before I bought these, to help the transition and it helped, however I am sure no matter how experienced you are, it will STILL take a beating on your calf and feet muscles. Make sure you buy a pack of moleskin though, the inside of the shoe has some areas where it rubs (mine was in the heels of both shoes), but this should NOT be a deterrent to buy these shoes. They are AWESOME.

Great shoes for running or every day use! My husband has the black kangaroo leather ones as well and wore them everywhere for work. These are his replacement ones when he doesn't need such a rugged design. Highly recommend!
