5.0 out of 5 stars Still looks good
I already have this item for over a year or even two. it still works and is as described. Even though I am beyond the maximum weight recommendation it even holds me. It is used at a packing station in our warehouse and does its job already much longer than originally expected.

3.0 out of 5 stars No frills high seat bar stool, February 18, 2009
I bought this to use while I use my computer which sits on my breakfast bar. This is about one of the cheapest bar stools around for a reason. I gave it three stars because its not bad enough to be a two but not really a 3. more like 6.5/10

Remember those hard plastic chairs they had in school? Well this basically one of those with a push up cylinder and a foot rest. The seat is firm and hard. The minimal back-rest sits low and is not all that comfortable to rest your back against. Again for the price, compared to other bar stools I wasn't expecting a lot.

The cylinder, my main concern when purchasing this, seems good enough. It loses maybe a half inch when I sit my 5'11'' 175lb frame down but otherwise seems sturdy. It takes only about 5 - 10 minutes to put together out of the box and includes the only tool you will need to do it.

This bar stool has good looks if you prefer a more modern feel. It will probably fit in if you like Ikea or Design Within Reach. Probably would stick out in more conservative decor.

This bar stool is cheap for a reason but I could not find anything comparative in the price range. So if you need something economical and modern looking I can recommend it. If you have the dough I would suggest finding something with a higher, padded back rest.

1.0 out of 5 stars To light for this chair, October 14, 2009

(REAL NAME)
I got this chair in the mail today. It took me about 5-10 minutes to put together and it looked great. I shook it a bit to make sure it wouldn't fall apart and it is sturdy enough. It wobbled a bit when i sat in it because of my carpeted floor. Next i found I couldn't raise the chair without standing up first. Not a real problem, it happens with most of chairs i own. After than i found that i am to light to make this chair go back down. The cylinder is to strong and my 110 pounds is not enough weight to move it. That being said either is my brothers 160 pounds, he is heavy enough though to make it about half way down.

I hope returning this chair is as easy as it was to put together.

Pros:
Sturdy chair
looks great
easy to put together

Cons:
Wobbles on a carpet floor
Cylinder is to strong and the chair will not function properly for anyone UNDER 170 pounds
The seat back is a little low

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny., June 28, 2009
This is one of the cheapest drafting/bar stools you can get. Being cheap you should know it is not the most comfortable chair you can get but for the price I didn't expect much better.

The chair comes with easy to understand instructions for assembly and puts together in five minutes. It also includes the only tool you will need...a small hex wrench. The back rest is not terribly functional. It is hard, set back a bit far for my posture and doesn't offer enough surface area for my wide, long back. I mostly find myself leaning forward when sitting on this chair. Like right now as I write this. The cylinder is sturdy. It keeps my 180lb frame up with less than 2" of deflection when I sit down. In fact my diminutive wife has a hard time adjusting the seat down, the cylinder is so strong.

If you are on a limited budget, go for this chair. If you are sensitive, spend another $100 or so and go for full padding.

I bought from Pushcart LLC and would recommend buying this from them if you decide this is the right chair for you. You can see my feedback for them also.

1.0 out of 5 stars Faulty pump, January 23, 2010

After a couple months the chair's pump stopped working. I bought this stool because I needed a high stool. Without the lift pump it's a short stool. Also the finish flakes off. Had the lift work I think it is still overpriced

5.0 out of 5 stars Serves it's purpose, August 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I love the color and style of this chair. I purchased it to use with my potter's wheel and it's perfect for it! I like that I can easily adjust the height when needed. The only downside I've found so far is with the foot rest. I really wish it was stationary. It tends to spin a little during use, which is inconvenient, but for the most part, tolerable. I'm really pleased with this purchase.

I just got this bar stool. The color is not exact as the picture here, but I like it too. It's like dark rose actually.
