Great Sticks,

I got a few pairs of these as a gift. I wasn't sure if I'd like them because they are smaller, lighter, and thinner than the 5A and 5AN I usually use. I am a jazz and blues drummer, and I usually play in small, intimate club settings. They have enough weight behind them to get solid strokes, but the thinner shoulder and tip cut down on the unwanted volume and attack. They're not as thin as a 7A or as thick as a 5A. They seem to be right in between. I love them, and now I don't use the 5A or 5 AN as much anymore. If your style is more rudiment or jazz chops oriented, I think you'll like these. If your style is to plow through a drumhead, then these are not for you. Hope this helps my fellow drummers.

Ugh..,
This review is from: Vic Firth American Jazz® 5 (Electronics)
I was borrowing this guys sticks in jazz ensemble and I broke them, so I bought him some replacements. They guy was a jerk and he lost them almost immediately.. Anyway, they are super duper thin, very narrow shoulder, and just not meaty enough for my taste. I see the appeal in really light jazz settings, but thy were just too thin to get much power out of. If the music took off, here I was stuck with chop sticks.Anyway, okay in certain settings, and apparently very breakable/lose-able.
