Our bagpipe band used these for matched pads, and the drum corps enjoyed the sound and "playability" of these pads. There are some additional mylar sheets/covers that can be placed on them to vary the feel and sound.

The only real draw-backs are the weight (they are not light!), and the rough-finished edge of the base material (wafer board).

Daughter needed it to practice at home for marching band. All day long I hear the drumpad being played on. Better than the real drum for my head.lol
