I primarily bought this to use for workout music, but the songs make me want to dance as well. This is a great collection, and I don't consider any of the songs to be "duds" like on so many other dance mixes. I love the energy on this mix, and it's hands-down my favorite dance mix that I own.

Ultra MESS--Ultra is losing its touch with its random song selections,
By
This review is from: Vic Latino Presents Ultra Mix 2 (Audio CD)
This disc simply isn't made to appease anyone. It's all over the place. A handful of overplayed radio hits open things up--which would be fine if this was a disc made to appeal completely to billboard chart fans like the Now series. By track 5, it becomes a mix of obscure latin/rap/electro tracks, which quickly turns repetitive and annoying! These songs seem to be recorded simply to get on your nerves. Finally, the club starts to really pump on track 9, "Hot Like Wow", a techno/electro track with female vocals. But then they have to throw in the new remix of Guru Josh's 90s club hit. This mix has already appeared on several other Ultra and Thrivemix CDs, so WHY use it again??? From there, we get a series of songs one might only know if they visited clubs frequently. This is great for hardcore dance music lovers, but are those who were in it for the pop tunes or the electro rap going to be satisfied with this finish??? And sadly, names like Robin S and Deborah Cox are completely lost in an array of artists credited for the songs they're singing. The new mix of Show Me Love is a waste of time since it doesn't do anything interesting to the original. And the Deborah Cox track is very mellow, not her usual diva anthem, and, well, it really doesn't even sound like Deborah Cox. Any female singer could have recorded the few vocal lines on this track. After that, we get the longest track on here, which is also the most boring, a trippy house track by Kaskade with mellow female vocals. Of course, this would be a great cool down for the CD if it was mixed with any logic, but after that, for a final song it moves to an upbeat hip hop track that uses the melody of Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Want to Have Fun!
On the bright side, you get nearly 6 minutes of the excellent club remix of Cobra Starship. As a collector, I would rather it had not been segued in a mix, which is the problem with most of these mixes. They should release unmixed versions with the full length mixes of these songs, many of which can't be found on CD at all. It seems the Now series has a slightly better idea, having just released Now That's What I Call Club Hits. While it's only one disc and all short versions, it's also not a continuous mix like this one, so you can enjoy each unique mix for what it is. 1. sugar...flo rida (3:46) 2. good girls go bad (funk generation mix)...cobra starship (5:46) 3. evacuate the dancefloor...cascada (4:34) 4. Better than Ultra Mix 1,
This review is from: Vic Latino Presents Ultra Mix 2 (Audio CD)
I dont know if Vic Latino saw what I wrote on Ultra Mix 1 but I have to say, the mixing on this cd is better than Ultra Mix 1. Enough on that. Music wise, this is truly a mix of several music genres. Highlights include the Funk Generation of "Good Girls Go Bad" by Cobra Starship, the awesome Cascada song "Evacuate the Dancefloor" and several repeats of other songs. Now if only "Infinity" by Guru Josh would just die, then my listening experience with this cd would be better lol.

I've been with Ultra Records since the beginning....,

... and this new mix impresses me once again. I do admit that there are a few tracks on this album that are frequently used over and over again such as "Sugar" and "I Know You Want Me," and a couple of not so good tracks towards the end, but the majority of these tracks are amazing and as always, amazingly mixed by vic latino. Buy it!

I really liked this album. On a side note, I loved what he did with the final track. It's a really fun hip pop song that uses the melody of the Cyndi Lauper's Girl's Just Wanna Have Fun.
