Keiser lived with the Vice Lord gang on Chicago's south side as a participant observeror in one of anthropology's first venture's into urban anthropology. He details daily life and the gang's mores with empathy, and his interpretations of their culture contributed to the field of Black anthropology.
I gave this book to a friend who was a youth worker among the gang at the same time, and he testified to its accuracy. We could use a contemporary study of the same quality.

This is not a good book because it does not explain things in very much detail and the professor didn't like the book either.
