5.0 out of 5 stars Horrible Histories
We love the Horrible Histories series. Although I couldn't use these as a stand alone history program, they give a light break in the normal historical reading. Their humor is just right for a Middle or even High School student to supplement their "serious" history reading.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Series
Our boys enjoy this series. They've read the Rotten Romans and the Groovy Greeks and loved them. It's an interesting way to study history.

4.0 out of 5 stars What fun. Light and Easy History Fun, September 23, 2010

This review is from: Vicious Vikings and Measly Middle Ages (Horrible Histories Collections) (Paperback)
This whole series "Horrible Histories" are lots of fun. There are cute little drawings and cartoons scattered through out the books. This one in specific is one of our favorites. It is a light hearted look at vikings and the middle ages.

It has some of the gross, nasty, not so whitewashed things that vikings did that you don't always get to read about in the normal history books. Even with that though it is not gory or gross. Similarly the middle ages, it has some of the interesting, not so clean things that were done during the middle ages.

This is a fun book with cute drawings, interesting information and lots of neat facts. It is not an in depth history book. It is also not something a homeschooler could use as a history curriculum. However, it is a nice break, a nice addition to any history curriculum you might have on hand.

Well worth the money. Enjoy.
