WOW~this book is a keeper. I just rec'd my copy today and haven't been able to put it down. A great edition to your library. Every page is part eye candy, pop culture, and fabulous crochet. What more could you want? Just grab it! Marg

1.0 out of 5 stars Ugliest Items Ever!!!!
I got this book yesterday and I have never seen such ugly patterns!! Several ugly "scarves", if you can call them that; a man's 'coat' that I wouldn't make for my best friend; a capelet for a child that looks like shredded wheat. There is only one item in the entire book I might make, if any; I can only imagine a bad dresser would want the rest of these. Don't waste...

5.0 out of 5 stars Vickie rocks and so does this book!, August 23, 2009
This review is from: Vickie Howell's Pop Goes Crochet!: 36 Projects Inspired by Icons of Popular Culture (Paperback)
Vickie Howell is one of the shining stars of the craft world, both on the indie scene as well as the industry. She has her crochet hook and knitting needles on the pulse of pop culture, innovative design, and straight up classic fashion. She combines all of these into one heck of a page turner. This book is not only for crafters, it is for anyone who is into movies, film, and music. The projects are clever, easy to tackle and loaded with personality! Not to mention the pictures are a blast - great coffee table material here! Way to go, Vic!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pop Goes Crochet, July 11, 2011

This is an excellent crochet pattern book with some innovative patterns not seen elsewhere and also not so complicated that average skilled crocheters could enjoy making the unusual items.

No projects too difficult. Very wearable items, practical for my Midwest weather. Nice photos & Instruction are easy to follow and the book has a good entertainment value. I do Enjoy Vicki Howell, so maybe I'm partial, but I have purchased much worse. This was a good value and will be a go to book for when I have time to do a project to for myself

Another wonderful book from yarn goddess Vickie Howell! She is as talented with a crochet hook as she is her knitting needles. She has created another fun book with lots of super patterns and is a good read as well. You won't be disappointed with this book--it is as good as all her others. Thanks, Vickie!!!!

This is a fun book with great projects. If you like new and young crochet you will love this book. It is not your grandma's crochet in any way.

LOVE, Love, Love this crochet book. I'm going to make the David Cardigan for my Grandbaby, the Cameron for myself. The Heidi will have to be a gift for someone because I love pom-poms. I will probably make more of these items as well. I'm looking forward to Vickie's next book as well.
