Nice humidifier, UNTIL you need to keep your baby asleep while the thing makes this absolutely ridiculous glugging noise throughout the night (even on the low setting!!) -- woke our baby up, woke us up, 7AM I'm putting this thing back into its box (which was already in the recycle bin) and back to the store. Bought one of the Crane humidifiers (the frog) and it works beautifully and most importantly - SILENTLY.

This is a wonderful sound machine for a nursery as it drowns out all background noise. The filter gets dirty and causes a bad smell pretty much right after you replace it. I dont recommend it as a humidifier but as something that provides great white noise.

I love this model. I have three at home, bought a fourth one for my sister who also loves it. I am buying a fifth one for another friend. Not only can my family breathe better it cuts down on the static electricity. The filter will suck up pet hair and dust so you need to make sure your floors are clean around it. Once I did not have the cap on correct and the tank kept emptying causing it to leak. This is the only problem any of us has had with any of the four identical items I bought. I usually run them on medium or low at night as the high is a bit loud for sleeping. It's an inexpensive fan so I can't expect it to be totally silent.

This humidifier is fantastic! The low speed is super quiet; on high speed it is quick to bring up the percentage of humidity in the room; it is very easy to clean and refill; it is very nice looking; and I especially like the large green light that indicates that it is on. I keep a small 6 inch clip-fan near it to ensure that a large volume of air reaches its air intake, and to help dissipate the humid air out of the discharge. I recommend to clean the water container, the inside of the base tray, and the filter at least every other refill. That way no slim or mineral deposits will inhibit its use, plus no harmful bacteria will breed inside the unit.

I have tried several humidifiers for my son's room (Hunter, Vicks filterless, Kaz, etc.) and this is the only one I have found that has a great quiet setting. There are times when the bubbles will gurgle to fill the water, but it is rare and my son got use to it easily. The filter will yellow quickly if you don't use one of the Kaz humidifier water cleaning products (they are very inexpensive and are worth it, especially if you have hard water). We use the humidifier every night and every nap and it works very well. I am going to buy a second one for my bedroom.

It is a very quiet unit. I used it mostly in medium speed all night long. The water supply would last me for 3 nights, which is good. The fact that is cool mist humidifier makes it feel like there is nothing going on!

From day one it leaked. The tray that the water falls into to saturate the wicking filter overflows within 5-10 minutes. Tried the troubleshooting and even called customer care, who advised me to return it within the retail store's return period. Took it back to the store and they told me I could not return something that was already used. I was out $50. Many of the reviews on here state that it leaks, do yourself a favor and just don't buy it. Then you don't have to worry about trying to return it and having to deal with the same hassle I did.

I bought this 6 hours ago and am packing it up to take it back to the store. I came in after turning on for 3 hours and my carpet was soaking wet. I tried one more time, this time fortunately I put a cooking pan underneath to catch any water. Once again, it leaked water everywhere. I read instructions again and I have done everything right. DO NOT BUY.

The Vicks Cool Humidifier does it's job. I especially like that you can use the Vicks Scent Pad for easier breathing if you are using it for someone with a cold. Luckily my daughters don't mind white noise when sleeping so the noise isn't an issue for my family. But if you have light sleepers in your house I would look elsewhere.

I don't know what all the 'fuss' is about regarding this humidifier. We have had one for almost 2 years in our bedroom and it does a wonderful job. So it does make the "bubble sound" when it needs more water, but it has NEVER awakened us. It does a great job of putting the cool mist in a small room and runs very quietly. With our having it for almost 2 years, not once have we had any problems with water on the floor, unless my husband didn't put the water tank on it correctly and we have never had the water container to crack/break at all. I would highly recommend this product for a small bedroom around the size of 150-175 sq.ft. Just another hint - one never smells the cool mist unless they get right up to the output vents, but oh if one is having allergy/sinus problems you can sure tell if its working or not.
