I thought I was buying a quality American made product but was disappointed to find this Chinese made, useless until I fixed it,piece of junk!
Tried flooding the tunnels several times and then several smoke-bombs to suck the oxygen out of the tunnels.
The score was Gophers 14 wins and me with Zero wins... and my plants kept getting destroyed.
Purchased two of these traps, set them in the tunnels and did not close-in the tunnels... left them wide open as this attracts the gophers to come plug them back up.
Checked on the two traps the next day and each trap had a dead gopher in them.
Finally a win for myself and my plants.
Now I'm asking neighbors if I can help them with their gophers!
These traps make it too easy!
PUSH THE TRAP INTO THEIR TUNNEL AS FAR AS YOU CAN WITHOUT TRIPPING THE TRIGGER, OUT OF SIGHT, THEN COVER YOUR
DIGGING SO LIGHT DOESN'T PENETRATE THE HOLE YOU DUG.
There seems to be quite some confusion about these traps.
Yes, they set differently than the old silver colored traps, but they work just as well and are slightly skinnier, thus making it easier to slip into the gopher hole.
I recommend placing a string or paracord thread around the ring of each trap so you can get them back if you have a struggler.
In order for these traps to work, you must find the tunnel that the gopher is using. This means that you will have to go out to your yard, find the mound of dirt, and with either a gopher stick or a metal rod you will have to poke and prod at the dirt until you have a very good idea of the direction which the tunnel is going.
Now you have to dig. Using a large, preferably skinny shovel, cut/dig a hole deep enough that you can see up the tunnel hopefully both ways. Place this trap inside the tunnel as far in as a couple inches and either stick a flag or a stake into the ground with the tether to the trap around it. This ensures that if you get him and he retreats, you will still get your trap back. If the trap doesn't fit inside the hole nicely, use a hand trowel to widen it or a garden knife.
The number of traps you need usually is directly proportional to the number of mounds you have in your yard.
Leave the tunnel open. The gopher will usually sleep during the hot times of the day and wake up in the early morning to dig, eat or close up the tunnel. If the gopher wakes up and feels a draft coming from an opening of the tunnel, he will usually go to collapse the tunnel to ensure that he doesn't have any unexpected visitors. When he does that, he will run into the trap and you can remove him that day.
As long as you repeat this process with every new mound that pops up and you keep to it, you can usually be gopher free in two weeks.

Would have loved it, if only I had caught some gophers. I set two traps three times - following the directions - and came up with nothing but dirt. Read morePublished 1 month ago by La Gregg

Very poor design compared to Victor easy set trap 0611. Be very careful when you set up 0615 for the first time, for your hands may get injured. Read morePublished 3 months ago by Kenny
