From the Manufacturer

Victor Poison Free Ultimate Flea Trap

Protect Your Home and Pets from Pesky Fleas

The Ultimate Flea Trap by Victor is a unique and easy-to-use tool that effectively helps you control fleas in your home, without having to spray synthetic chemicals or apply them to your pet. Simply plug it in, and your flea trap will begin luring and trapping fleas immediately from up to 30 feet away, alerting you to their presence. It’s odor-free and safe for use around children and pets - so you can use it anywhere indoors and begin to enjoy a flea-free home.

High Efficiency Trap Provides Long-Term Protection

The patented design of the Victor Ultimate Flea Trap gives it a 93% catch rate, making it one of the most efficient ways to control fleas. Its strength lures fleas off of your pet and out of upholstery, and 360° access allows them to enter from all angles. Just replace the “super grabber” glue disc every 2-4 weeks for continued, long-term protection against fleas.

How it Works

  • Bright color, light and heat that simulates a warm-blooded host attract fleas from up to 30 feet away.
  • Disposable "super grabber" glue disc catches fleas and holds them in place.
  • Trapped fleas help to break the breeding cycle and alert you to a potential infestation.

Trap Fleas in Three Simple Steps

1. Assemble the Trap

Insert the host-simulating bulb and 'super grabber' glue disc, then snap the trap together.

2. Place Near Pets

Select locations indoors where your pets spends most of their time, like bedding, crates or other resting places to attract and capture nearby fleas.

3. Replace Glue Disc Every 4 Weeks

Insert a fresh disc every 2-4 weeks for continued flea trapping and monitoring. 2 glue discs are included with this trap, and refill packs are available.

Early Detection

Identifying a flea problem at the very beginning helps you more easily protect your pets and family from a full-blown infestation. It's important to set flea traps in each room of your home in which fleas may be breeding in order to monitor their activity and effectively control them.

About Fleas in Your Home

Identification and Habits

Adult fleas are tiny bloodsucking insects that, to the naked eye, resemble poppy seeds or dark-colored sesame seeds. Their wingless bodies are laterally compressed, making it easier for them to travel through a host’s fur or hair. Fleas are equipped with long, tube-like mouthparts that allow them to consume the blood of an animal host, as well as long hind legs that allow them to powerfully jump from body to body.

Adult fleas must obtain blood meal in order to reproduce, so they are immediately attracted to warm-blooded animals (i.e. you or your pets) once they mature. Females will lay 20-50 eggs - often directly on the host - and these eggs commonly fall onto pet bedding or carpets where fleas undergo metamorphosis and the cycle begins again.

Get Rid of Fleas and Their Eggs

1. Set and Monitor Traps

Flea traps will effectively notify you of the presence of fleas so you can begin to take action.

2. Bathe Pets Regularly

Be sure to use shampoo and fully rinse your pet clean to get rid of all signs of fleas.

3. Discard or Deep-Clean Bedding and Toys

Flea eggs often fall off of your pet and onto surrounding objects or surfaces like dog beds and plush toys.

4. Vacuum Regularly

Be sure to get rid of any fleas, eggs and larvae that may be living in nearby carpets or upholstery.

This really helps get rid of the adult fleas.
I love having this in my home it helps keep the fleas away without using any harmful chemicals in my house.
It's a light bulb and a piece of sticky paper - hasn't caught a single flea, bug, or other pest.

I bought one of these on Tuesday, it arrived on Wednesday. It worked so well I just ordered six refills and a second unit.

I don't have a very serious flea problem, but it was bad enough that I was willing to try a new product. We have very thick carpet in most of our house, and while spraying and vacuuming gets rid of most of them, enough survive to restart the problem a few months later. I chose this one because another reviewer had put a photo of the sticky-pad covered with fleas. I considered it unlikely that someone had just caught a bunch of fleas and then thrown them onto the trap just to make the product look good. Also, it wasn't terribly expensive so, I gave it a shot...

It is fascinating and disturbing how this thing works. Fleas from all corners of the room (within 30 feet or so) move close to it and just gather around it like it's some kind of shrine to their glorious Flea-God. Eventually, they hop into the glow, thinking they are going to Fleahalla or wherever flea-warriors go when they die...and that's when they land on the sticky pad. They struggle for a few seconds, but every move buries them deeper in the muck and soon they stop, frozen in pain and panic as the dark curtain of death slowly descends. So, in a way, I guess they were right: jumping into the light WILL take you to Fleahalla, but instead of flea-valkaries you get agonizing death on a big sticky-disc.

This product works best in a dark room, where the light is the only source of light and heat available--also, it works better if you and your pets aren't in the room, either. We let it go overnight and in the morning it was choked with fleas. I was going to take a picture of it, but it's just so tragic and disgusting that I don't think I will.

I must admit I was very skeptical about this, but decided to give it a try out of sheer desperation, and based on the favorable reviews on Amazon. I've got a flea issue with my bedroom carpet, and have tried sprays, continuous vacuuming, boric acid treatments, and dosing my pet with Frontline & Advantage products. While the Advantage works pretty darn well ON the pet, the carpet was still infested no matter what I tried. I plugged in this little contraption on the floor next to my bed, and within TWO HOURS I've already captured 18 fleas, and can actually SEE them hopping across the carpet to get to the trap! I think this is a brilliant, safe, pesticide-free solution to dealing with those pesky little ankle-biting devils that hide in the carpet! I'll continue to vacuum, but I intend to keep this thing plugged in at all times to grab the ones that get away or are newly hatched. Don't hesitate to buy this product!

An earlier review of this product almost made me pass on the purchase, but I'm glad I didn't. I bought 2 and within the first ten hours 40-50 fleas were caught. Moving the traps periodically to new locations appears to be helpful. I plan to get additional traps for other problem areas.

It occurred to me that the small opening of the trap might be hindering its effectiveness. So I removed the sticky trap paper and taped it to a 9 inch white styrofoam plate and then placed it under a 40w lamp that I purchased at Walmart for $7.00 Right away the flea count doubled and so I purchased more $7 lamps, bought only refills from Home Depot and taped them to more 9 inch white styrofoam plates and started to place them all over the house. What we noticed was, the fleas seem to concentrate in one area of the house. In this case our laundry room seem to be the hive where fleas were being reproduced in large numbers. Surprisingly where ever the dog was did not produce any large number of hits, probably because he was better bait. But the laundry room was definitely the source or so I thought. As the number of hits started to diminsh there still seem to be a steady stream of fleas consistently which didn't make sense like 10 new hits consistently every day. The rest of the house only produced 0 to 2 hit every couple of days, so you can see the laundry room was still the hive. Then one morning I had to go out to the garage to get something out of the car, when I got back into the laundry room (it is attached to the garage) I noticed a bunch of fleas clinging to my white tube socks. I counted or killed 40 fleas off my white tube socks after only being in the garage 30 seconds! So I quickly place a white styrofoam plate with a Victor refill sticky pad taped to it and place a $7 Walmart lamp over it and waited. Next morning there were over 85 fleas trying to wiggle, jump or pry themselves off the refill. I placed another plate w/ a refill taped to it and as soon as I dropped the plate to the floor 8 fleas jumped onto it!Read more ›

Preemptive note: I apologize for the sound quality.
This is a review of the Victor M230 Ultimate Flea Trap. This review shows the results of four traps. Please note that I have never been compelled to write a review for any product I've purchased through Amazon, until now.

In my opinion, the number of fleas caught varies based on placement. Some reviewers mentioned moving their traps to various places with no success. Though I'm not sure why they didn't experience success, you'll see in this video that the product actually does work.

My patio and living room were the most infested. The trap reviews in those areas show the most trapped fleas. The traps used in my home office and the linoleum-floored bathroom (where the cat box and food dish reside) show little-to-no trapped fleas.

I typically keep my home office door closed, which is why there are fewer fleas, thus lower results. I believe the fleas are more pleased with carpet than linoleum, thus the sole-flea result for that trap.

While other reviewers may have experienced low-to-no results, placement *may* be a possible factor. (Operative phrase - "may be possible.")

Otherwise, I experienced the same kind of results with the paper plate, water, and dish soap method on the porch. This method was not as effective as the Victor traps within the apartment. The water and soap method didn't attract *any* fleas in my home office or living room, even over a period of 2-3 days. Victor traps produced results overnight.

Thanks for considering this video as you decide on your purchase.
