This books offers basic information and reasonably good pictures of a number of Victoria basin cichlids. Problems with this book are that there is nothing beyond the basics. There is no information provided on how to sex any of the species nor is there any information on when juveniles should start to develop distinctive coloration. It is not helpful for the reasonably well informed novice to add to his/her knowledge base.
