Besides delicious rhubarb pies, rhubarb also makes an excellent desert, and particularly in summer, when its refreshingly delicious flavour is most appreciated. Rhubarb is also an extremely hardy plant - one could say small shrub - which lasts for decades, with hardly any care at all. Harvesting outweighs care by a factor of about 10 to 1.

Of the 23 rhubarb seeds I received only 1 seed sprouted and it fell over within 2 days. Possibly I just got a non-producing packet of seeds.

I had such high hopes for these seeds! Unfortunately it was packaged in a small clear baggie. While having them sitting out in the kitchen, someone in the family thought they were a piece of trash. Let's just say I never did get to plant them. Definitely going to try again though.
