By A Customer
This review is from: Victoria (Sunfire) (Paperback)
Victoria is another exciting SUNFIRE book. It is set during the Texas Revolution. Victoria is in love with Cade, a Texas Ranger. But her parents want her to marry Luis, the son of a Mexican landowner who sides with the Texans. But soon Victoria is thrust into the middle of the conflict. She must survive and scrounge for food admist raging battles, always fearful of stray bullets, always thankful when they barely pass her by, always praying that Cade will return safely home.

REMEMBER THE ALAMO,
By A Customer
This review is from: Victoria (Sunfire) (Paperback)
The first time I read this book I hated it, but I think I was missing something because when I read it again I really enjoyed it. This is a story about a girl named Vickie who moves to inner Texas because of her mom's health. She meet's Cade Riley, but her dad thinks he's too ready to go to war and Cade's sister Naddy hates her. Her parents like Luis Arista and Victoria's not certain how she feels. It's not until the Alamo falls that she can claim her true love.

Even though this is my first Sunfire book to read, so I can't compare it to any others, I thought it was a really good book. I especially liked it because I'm really interested in Texas history.(probably because I'm from Texas, and had a REALLY great Texas history teacher)I thought it didn't really give enough historical details and kinda left Billy and Naddy on thin ice.(but I can use my imagination) But over all it was a really great book! I really think the Sunfire series should be publised again, because I really just stumbled onto this one and can't find any more.

Not my favorite,
By tanpopo "tanpopo" (California) - See all my reviews

Of the Sunfire books I've read so far, this was definitely my least favorite. Perhaps my lack of interest in the Alamo had something to do with it, but mostly I found the story very predictable and Cade Riley just wasn't a consistent character. Sometimes he was very romantic, and other times, particularly when the subject of war came up, it seemed more like "Vicky who?" I also never understood how the relationship of Billy and Naddy progressed as it did...it just kind of happened. This wasn't a bad book, just not a great one.

Sunfire Book: Victoria,
By
This review is from: Victoria (Sunfire) (Paperback)
I've read all the Sunfire books except three and Victoria is in my top five favorites. I love the romance aspect of this book and how even though their going through a war, Vickie still pins for Cade. I'm a history major so these books are some of my favorites. I think it was great how Victoria was there when the Alamo was defeated so that the reader learned that part of history.
