Two special pattern pullouts will allow doll costumers to create authentic reproductions of period dresses for 16-1/2in (42cm) and 28in (71cm) dolls.
About the Author
Hazel Ulseth and Helen Shannon have written several doll dressmaking resource books over a number of years. Among their most popular are Costume Cameos 1 through 5, A Handbook for Doll Costumers, and Creating Fur Teddy Bears: Mink and Fake Fur. Ulseth and Shannon have contributed many doll and Teddy Bear costume and making project to Doll Reader and Teddy Bear and friends magazines. They frequently give workshops on doll costuming and teddy bear making at large toy and doll shows throughout the country.

A useful tool in establishing fashions from the period.,

I have found this a useful book, particularly in establishing the types and styles for costuming my dolls. The authors have taken a wide variety of patterns from the period and compiled the pictures and descriptors into one book. Original weights and types of material, plus a brief explanation of the designs are helpful, but from a sewing perspective, explanations of some of the more unusual techniques used in construction are missing. Here, the authors could have added their own expertise and increased the overall value of the book. An index would have been particularly useful but has not been included.
