This review is from: Victorian Sexual Dissidence (Paperback)
The author Richard Dellamora is a Victorian Scholar who offers a rich variety of Victorian gender studies in this book. I bought the book because I am doing my Thesis on Michael Field and this book has some excellent points and well done research as well as new thoughts both on Michael Field, and others, to include Vernon Lee, Oscar Wilde, Henry James, George Eliot, and other Victorian writers.
Although this book has been written by an expert, it does not mean one has to be an expert to enjoy the book. Anyone interested in the Victorian fin de siecle to include but not limited to literature, gender study, and unconventionality can easily read and enjoy this work. Just to name a few of the Victorian experts who have essays in this book are Regenia Gagnier, Christopher Lane, Thais Morgan, and Yopie Prins. |
