This is my very favorite Christmas carol CD! DeCormier and Pierpont have arranged the familiar and not so carols in a bright fresh wrapper. The voices feature tight (and unusual) harmonies and the instrumentation features bells and drums of the Victorian period. Give this one a listen.

This cd is by far the best christmas cd in my collection of over 20. The Coventry Carol is the most stirring, moving accounts of the song that i have heard in my life, and is still my favorite carol, after i have heard it easily over 500 times. The rendition of Jingle Bells in incredible. This cd is a MUST OWN for any serious Christmas music fan.

Out of (literally) hundreds of Christmas recordings in my collection, "A Victorian Christmas" has ranked among my top three. Vocally tight and musically interesting, I play the collection daily from November through January. The recording captures the spirit of the season, transporting the listener back in time. For many years now, "A Victorian Christmas" has become one of the sounds of the season for me and my family, guaranteed to bring a smile every time. A "must have" for your holiday collection. A treasure for your ipod.

This too is my favorite Christmas album. It strikes a perfect balance between the sometimes saccharine and bombastic choral style of the usual choir recordings, and avoids the synthesized, modern interpretations that sound anachronistic to my ears. This is the only bearable version of Jingle Bells I have ever heard. I can not recommend this highly enough.
