More About the Author

English was always a favorite subject throughout my years in school, but somehow I ended up with a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Psychology and a minor in Philosophy.

Every couple has a story about how they met, and like snowflakes, no two stories are ever the same. I am endlessly fascinated by the magic of that moment of connection between two people as their paths cross for the first time.

As an incurable romantic, I enjoy writing love stories with satisfying endings.

Please stay tuned for my next novel.

I found myself getting drawn into the story, and I just couldn't stop reading! The characters are entirely believable and real, and I couldn't wait to find out what happens with them! Just when you think you know what the outcome will be in Victoria's love life, she takes you on an unexpected turn or twist, leaving you uncertain and guessing, a little longer. I don't want to spoil what happens in the book, but I was very happy with the ending. Looking forward to a sequel!

This was so much more than a romance novel! The main characters were incredibly vivid, and the author conveyed their depth and complexity to a degree that more than captured my heart and soul. The main male character is a captivating man (to say the very least) -- very British, an aristocratic type but very down-to-earth, compassionate, passionate, articulate, comfortable in his skin, yet with a slight flaw or two. The main female character and many sub-characters are so vividly painted and interesting, I want them in my life (but only if I can first have that Englishman!).

Set in Boston in the mid 1980's, the culture & music of the time comes through loud and clear, as well as the color and activity of Boston, itself (especially the Back Bay area). There are aspects of various kinds of music (mostly from the '80's), and also of vintage clothing (which I found to be really fun). I'm eagerly hoping for a sequel -- or other novels -- from this author. Note to author: I will never tire of the Englishman, or characters like him.

Perfectly edited. This author has a knack for clarity in her writing, and for keeping it interesting and exciting, yet real. The conversations were very natural, and it was always clear who was speaking. The flow was perfect! Few authors can paint characters like those in this story!

I love the storyline and how the conversation, and interaction between the main characters and their friends. It is a story that anyone in real life could relate to. It is a love story with a nice ending.

I love Boston...love 80's music...and LOVE May/December romances. So when I read the plot to this story I was dying to read it. I really found nothing redeeming about it. The plot was so thin that I found myself dreading to read it. But I'm one of those people that when I pay for a book, I finish reading it (regardless of how painful it is) because I don't want to have wasted my money. The problems arise early on when I feel like I'm reading a travel guide to the streets of Boston. There are directions on which street to walk down to get to which restaurants, etc.... And there was A LOT of this. The majority of the book felt like a "oooh, look how much I know about Boston...this is where you should go if you visit" It grew very annoying. The rest of the book was taken up by mentioning almost every 80's band out there and every 80's song. There was absolutely no conflict in this story. Unless you count the last couple of pages where you wondered "would they get together". But I kept waiting for some conflict to happen in the story and it never did. I felt like I was just reading someone's journal entry "Dear Diary, today I did this and then did this and then went to bed." Each chapter was like this. There was no excitement to it at all. I felt no connection to the main characters. Wasn't rooting for them at all because I didn't feel a connection. Could have cared less whether they ended up together or not. I felt like more attention was paid to secondary characters and flushing out their attributes instead of focusing more on the main characters. More 'wrenches' should have been thrown into the story to disrupt this supposed romance. Needless to say I won't be waiting on 'pins and needles' for any more books by this author.

Fate throws Edmund and Victoria together...but will fear and misunderstanding drive them apart? 1980's Boston was alive with music and fashion. Victoria is a free spirited musician working her way through the Boston rock scene, trying to find a niche for herself in music and love. She has created a loving family of friends, but has so far been unlucky in finding the partner she dreams of. Edmund is enjoying life as a respected member of Boston's upper crust, but he has secrets of his own that are keeping him from being truly happy.

What happens when these two worlds collide? From notorious Boston rock clubs to tony Back Bay townhomes, we get the pleasure of watching the rise and fall and...?? of Victoria and Edmund's relationship.

I had so much fun reading this book. I spent my 20's in Boston's 1980's rock scene, and the author has really nailed the atmosphere of the time. If you love Boston, 80's music, or romance, you will enjoy this bon bon of a book. Ms. Byszewski has given us two true-blue characters to root for as they search for love and contentment.

Like the orange scones that Edmund favors, this book is sweet and satisfying.

Good read. Victoria is a vulnerable and romantic young woman who has chosen a difficult career. She is struggling to balance her emotional love life with her love for music. She finds herself in situations where she has to make difficult choices and they consequently cost her immense pain and frustrations. LA
