Product Description

The Victorinox Swiss Army Men's Chrono Classic Chronograph Black Dial Watch combines a classic style with exacting timekeeping features. This timepiece can be utilized as a stopwatch, with three windows that keep track of time - from 1/10 of a second up to 30 minutes. The stylish black dial and Arabic hour markers contrast nicely with the stainless steel case and linked band, held firmly in place with a deployment-clasp-with-push-button-safety. The Chrono Classic features an anti-reflective sapphire window, Swiss quartz movement, tachymeter bezel, and is water resistant to 330 feet (100 meters).

Victorinox Swiss Army – History

Master Cutler Karl Elsener opened a cutlery shop in Ibach, Switzerland in 1884. Seven years later, in 1891, Karl supplied the Swiss Army with its standard issue Soldier’s Knife. After the death of his mother in 1909, Karl Elsener introduced the brand name Victoria and the iconic Cross and Shield emblem is registered as a trademark. With the advent of stainless steel, Karl Elsener coined the company’s name, Victorinox, by combining his mother’s name with “inox”, an abbreviation of the French word for rust-resistant steel, “inoxydable”. After World War II, the “Original Swiss Army Knife” began its successful progression around the world and enjoyed exceptional popularity. In 1989, Victorinox entered the timepiece business in the United States under the brand name “Swiss Army”. Ten years later, Victorinox joined the Travel Gear market, partnering with TRG Group in St. Louis. And in 2001, Victorinox fashion was introduced in the US to further capture the brand’s essence of practical luxury. In 2002, in order to promote global unity, the Victorinox Swiss Army timepiece brand was launched internationally. In 2007, Victorinox set up Victorinox Swiss Army Fragrance AG, and in 2009 Victorinox Swiss Unlimited was launched. 2014 marks Victorinox Swiss Army’s 130th anniversary, and each Victorinox Swiss Army product embodies the spirit of the Legendary Original Swiss Army Knife, a universal symbol of Functionality, Innovation, Quality and Iconic Design.

Great watch! I was a little concerned about the black buttons on the side of the watch (north and south of the time adjust knob). It's not a concern any longer......it flows nicely with the design of the watch. I saved $200 dollars purchasing through Amazon versus Macy's or Dillard's (325.00 vs 525.00). If you're thinking about purchasing this watch, I say go for it, you won't be disappointed.

I was searching for a new casual watch for quite sometime when I came across this watch. There were several Swiss Army brand watches that I liked, but this model in particular caught my eye. It's not everyday that you see a watch with black trim around the bezel and black buttons for the stopwatch feature. I thought this was a nice contrast to the stainless steel and the photos online convinced me to make the purchase.

When the product arrived, I was not let down. The pictures do not do this watch justice. The stainless steel band is much shinier in person and there is just something different about the face of the watch that I can't quite put my finger on, but it looks better in person too. I've had the watch for a few weeks now and I have already received several comments on it. One from my Dad who is a watch fanatic (he owns multiple Rolex's, a Tag and a Swiss Army).

The watch has a nice weight to it. Not too heavy, not too light. I have fairly skinny wrists and I was afraid that the face would be too big. It turned out to fit me perfect. Overall, this is a fantastic watch that I would recommend to anyone looking for a great casual watch.

The heading of this product does include the words "Black Dial," but it came up when I searched for "Swiss Army Blue" looking for blue dial watches. The first picture (and the picture that appears in the results list) makes the face of the watch appear dark blue. This is a black watch. (I might be the only person who made the mistake, and might deserve to be publicly shamed for it, but I wanted to help out anybody else who might be looking for a blue watch...)

Hands down - 5 stars for looks. This is perhaps the best looking Victorinox watch out there currently. I've had it for 3 years now. The watch still looks amazing and keeps great time.

After years of constant use, the face of the watch has absolutely zero scratches - and I haven't been particularly gentle or careful with it. The blank ring at the outside of the face is ceramic - and that one scratches a lot easier, though. I have a couple of hair-width scratches that covers that black ring and reach between the "60" and "65" mark on the tachymeter scale. That part of the watch is metallic but also scratches easier than the actual glass face. When the only thing you have to worry about is not to scratch the stainless steel components, things are good :) Overall, pretty impressive.

Had to replace the battery earlier this year, which seems normal (3 years of use). The watch will let you know it's time when you just wake up in the morning and it's a few hours behind... It actually works accurately during the day even with an almost dead battery. So if you see these symptoms - yep - battery change time.

A note about the wrist band. There are some models with rubber, leather or textile bands, but this watch just feels right with the metallic wrist band. After years of daily use, the very bottom where the wrist band touches the desk has started to show a little wear. The links of the band are super sturdy and thick, but I can see how they're getting a little rounded. Since it's all solid stainless steel, they are the same color throughout, so aesthetically there is 0 change :) This watch is going to age very, very well.

Very nice watch for the price of $270 (price fluctuates on Amazon). The dial (face) looks better in-person than on the Amazon picture which doesn't do it justice. The band is made for a very large men's wrist so I had mine adjusted for a men's medium-sized wrist. If you have a thick wrist, you should not be concerned that the band is too small. The face will fit all wrist sizes as it's just the perfect size. Fit and finish are excellent and all sub dials work flawlessly. You can dress this up for use with a sports jacket or down as a weekend watch. Would not recommend for formal events as it's a little too casual.

Great Quality, hands line up exactly with hash marks. Has that durable feel to it even when compared to Tags for a fraction of the price. I wasn't thrilled about the black buttons when I was looking at it online however they blend in wonderfully with the design of the watch.

One of the more solid and dependable time pieces that I own. I have put this thing through its paces and the face is still scratch free and looks great.

I ordered this item and compared it to a new one from a local retailer. The only really thing different that i could tell by examining it for a very long time was that this watch doesn't have a serial number. I don't know if it never had one or was buffed off but a new one from a reputable retailer definitely has a serial number and this one doesn't. The backing on this watch looked a little duller than the one from the reputable retailer as well so it may have been buffed off. I dont know if it is a fake or not but i am happy with it. I tried emailing this company to ask about the serial number being missing or buffed off but could never get anyone to respond. I think i even got my emails returned so i don't know if the address they give is even valid. I have been having this watch for 4 months now and have not had a single problem with it. I saved a lot of money ordering it through this company compared to a reputable retailer but i just don't know if it is a fake or not.
