ANOTHER EXCELLENT AMAZON PURCHASE.,

I love good quality knives, but had never found one that satisfied me for slicing tomatoes. This is the answer. The special cutting blade cuts through tomatoes like butter only better. I do not have a problem with the lessor expensive handle. I am certain it will last indefinitely. Only time will tell how long the blade will keep it's wonderful edge. I think a very long, long time based on what I have perceived so far about it's quality. I highly recommend this little jewel. If you cut tomatoes, you will love this.

I am distressed to realize that I have been charged by Amazon for a "free gift" from Victorinox. The knife is clearly marked as such, and emblazoned with "NOT FOR RESALE" !!!
Shame on you Amazon. This is really a shabby way to operate. Normally I wouldn't let Amazon's behavior impact a review, but this situation is unique in that the bad behavior and the product are so closely intertwined.

What's not to like about this knife? It's a great size for large paring jobs, slicing small breads like a roll, bagel, or baguette, hard cheeses, fruits and veggies, even meats and fish, great steak knife if you need an extra, cutting a sandwich in half, pretty much anything. Best of all, it was free because I bought over $50 worth of other Victorinox knives! I purchased 8 other Victorinox knives at the same time, and I'd say that, ironically, this free one is the one I use most often so far.

I purchased this knife because of my good experience with other Victorinox kitchen knives. It is a great tomatoe knife and a handy small serrated knife for smaller jobs. It stays sharp and cuts without tearing. I recomend it as a kitchen basic and have given several as gifts.

I bought Victorinox knives based on a recommendation from "Cooks Illustrated" magazine. I am so pleased! I got the 3" and 4" utility knives plus the chefs knife and tomato/bagel knife. All three are the best of their kind I have ever used, and I have always considered myself a bit of a knife snob. The polypropylene handles are very comfortable and non-slip, and the blades are just right. They are really sharp and they stay sharp. In fact, I cut my finger the first time I used it, because I didn't realize just how sharp it was. The chefs knife is perfectly balanced and such a pleasure to use. And the best part of all, they are so affordable. You deserve these knives!

Awesome knife. Cuts thru anything, even fingernails. Thin slices so easily! Highly recommended.

All around utility knife...,
This review is from: Victorinox 125th Anniversary Limited Edition 4-1/2-Inch Tomato/Bagel Knife (Kitchen)
The knife is comfortable in the hand, easy to maintain and cuts many things well. It's not for chopping. Reach for this knife when you want to slice something that might not receive a straight blade as well. The serrated edge cuts most things easily. It's aged well after several months of near daily use. I hold out hope for many years of quality use.

As with all Victorinox knives, the blade is perfection.... However, I did not expect to get a knife (for which I spent $9.00) to have packaging that said "Not For Resale" and engraving on the blade that makes it clear that the knife was designed to be a free promotional item. SHAME ON YOU, Amazon!

Re: Victorinox 125th Anniversary Limited Edition 4-1/2-Inch Tomato/Bagel Knife,
Watch out! this knife is very sharp. It shaves tiny pieces of my fingernails off when I'm cutting things. The knife is very lightweight, and has a nicely shaped handle that's slim. I hold it closer to my fingertips and it gives me great control, and you don't need to use much pressure to slice through things. My favorite use for the knife is filleting oranges. I cut the orange into wedges and then slice along the inside of the peel and have nothing but orange goodness. I keep bowls of cut up oranges around and kids and adults eat oranges constantly. So you can say that this knife makes us a healthier family. The other thing this knife is great for is making sandwiches. You use it for the mayo, cut the tomato, cut the whole sandwich in half. Great for subs & bread. I also use this knife for trimming fat off of roasts and skin off chickens. I use it to cut bbq ribs apart into sections. Of course this little knife can't do everything, but I find that between this knife and the Victorinox Chef's knife (see link below) the two basically handle everything I need. I have bought 4 of these knives as gifts. So buy yourself and someone else a gift, and get two of them! I highly recommend this knife. Victorinox Fibrox 8-Inch Chef's Knife

Perfect Tomato Knife,

This review is from: Victorinox 125th Anniversary Limited Edition 4-1/2-Inch Tomato/Bagel Knife (Kitchen)
Our old serrated knife which had been the tomato knife had a handle that cracked, and I was afraid it would not last the season. This one looked perfect - not fancy but very utilitarian. It's even better than I had hoped! Extremely sharp and fit for the task. It cuts uniform slices from thick to paper thin. It's easy to clean, and looks like it will last for years. I'm very happy with this purchase!
