Pros:
* reasonable price * high build quality * 40mm case is not too large but yet not too small. fits men with relatively not so large hands. * looks great (but this is subjective) * accurate Cons: * date is 'manual' i.e. needs to be set at the end of the month on 30 day months

I love this watch! Looked long and hard at a number of watches to replace my 20+ year old Seiko that died. Finally settled on this one. Bought from Amazon because they had the best price and because they have a great return policy. It is very handsome, and looks much better than the stock photo. Have had it about a month and it keeps great time (as a quartz movement should). Only one, minor, problem - it arrived with a small, nearly invisible, burr on the clasp, making it difficult to open and close. But that was easily fixed with a metal fingernail file. Victorinox quality control should have caught that. Nonetheless, I would absolutely, positively, buy it again.

I'd eyed this classy, sleek-looking watch for over a year and then - when it dipped to more than 30% off the list price - I took the plunge. I'm happy I did. It looks and feels great. I'm a fidgeter, but I've not thought once about this watch from the moment I strapped it on. It's super-comfortable. I'm one to easily find something to irritate me about a watch. In this instance, I have nary a bad word to say. The size is perfect for me. At 40mm in width, it's more modest than these satellite dishes that currently pass for high style on a man's wrist (seriously, I saw a guy with clock strapped to his wrist at the airport the other day...where does this trend end?) But it's still large enough to be a man's watch (no unisex style this). The Base Camp won't tell you the temperature, your altitude, your pace, your time zone, where due north is or your resting heart rate. What it will do is give you the time - accurately and cleanly - and the date of the month.
