I usually do not think much of knives which are not forged as they often cannot even be sharpened much less hold an edge, but Victorinox seems to have found a method of tempering which does a good job of compensating for this. I have several Shun and Wusthof Classic knives, but did not want to spend that kind of money for a boning knife. I think this is 90% or better of what you get with a high end forged knife. I am very happy with my purchase.
