I got this as a gift to my girlfriend, and I also use it occasionally. I bought it after some considerable cutlery research. I find this knife in no way inferior to the much more expensive high-end chef's knives that I normally use. Sharp, solidly built - you can't go wrong with it. We also own a few other Victorinox kitchen knives - all are highly recommended. If you are looking for inexpensive but high quality kitchen knives, Victorinox should be top of the list.
