Product Description

The R H Forschner by Victorinox Butcher Knife features high carbon, stainless steel blade, hand finished at Victorinox in Switzerland by skilled craftsmen. A special tempering process is used to produce an edge that can be resharpened over and over again, so the knife can keep its original sharpness throughout the entire life of the blade. Victorinox handles are ergonomically designed to minimize wrist tension. They provide a natural fit. A good heft and comfortable, positive grip are indications of a well-made knife. A sure-grip handle with a finger guard is valuable feature since the handle inevitably gets greasy, wet, or both. Although cutlery steel is naturally sanitary, materials and construction details of the handle minimize crevices what would offer hospitality to bacteria.

This is a great knife for a BBQ enthusiast. It just perfect for cleaning Pork Shoulder or Brisket with surgical precision. It come out of the box as super sharp, i can attest it sharpness while trimming a Pork Shoulder I nick my finger with surgical blade like cut. I have Shun, Wusthof and Henckels, but for butchering this is my go to knife. You also can not beat the cost on this compared to the other brands.

If you pick this knife up I would recommend getting a steak knife set as well from Victoriox, your steaks will cut like soft butter and you have precision control on your cuts.

As a butcher, I can say, buy this knife. Very useful, especially for pork and extremely versatile. Arguably a bit pricy but I have found it worth it.
