For 12 years I worked in a premium flower shop where the Victorinox floral knife was THE stem cutting tool. I kept one with me even when driving deliveries, just in case a quick repair was needed. My employer was able to buy these knives by the box from our wholesaler. Years later, and working in another industry, I just purchased one to be my personal everyday pocket knife; it's that good. The grips are different than the usual red Swiss Army grips, they are are textured to give a good, safe hold, even with wet fingers. The single blade has a straight edge that is only ground on one side, which is just the thing you want for slicing stems cleanly. Keeping a fine edge on this simple blade with a whetstone is quick and easy. Attractive brass pins keep keep the dark red grips fast to the body of the knife, and the famous Victorinox cross and shield logo is colored to match. The painted logo on mine rubbed off a bit when I got honing oil on my fingers, but, that's only an aesthetic issue.
This is a quality Victorinox professional product. The fit and finish are on par for this brand. The blade is strong for a pocketknife. The hinge comes well oiled. There is no play in the blade, and it snaps open and shut solidly. The knife is thin, lightweight, comfortably pocketable, reasonably priced, and durable enough for years of heavy daily use.

Though usually sold as a pruning knife, this is a great single blade knife. The cutting edge is only sharpened on one side, and is very sharp.

This knife is sturdy and well made. Consider for a moment, 95% of the time a pocket knife is used, it is to cut something; a single blade knife is perfect.

With no loosening of the blade, mine has lasted for years.

I'm a retired electrical engineer, and I used to buy things online due to escalating gas price and car's maintenance. After reading numerous reviews of this Victorinox Florist Grafting Knife, and comparing the price with the other closely related model for Florists, I decided to buy this one with the blade beveled only at one side for grafting. Before I purchased this knife, I was using my old box cutter for grafting flowering shrubs for fun with few success, and I just want to try this very sharp and popular Swiss made knife this year to find out if I can increase my luck in grafting fruit trees like avocados and plums this year of 2012. This knife arrived to my mail box in a bubbled envelope, and it was very sharp that it doesn't need further sharpening. It almost cut my thumb when I tried to remove my finger print on the blade the other day. There are no wiggle of the single blade. My only complaint is that it's not like the electrician knife and the box cutter that I became familiar with. This knife will accidentally close on your fingers if you jab it on something hard because the very sharp blade has no locking tongue like most well made electrician knives.

I'm a beginning grafter. I used the knife for grafting scions on apple trees, Asian pears, and grapes. The cut was smooth and sharp. And most important - all the grafts took! I'm very satisfied and would recommend it to anyone grafting fruit trees.

It is a good value for the price. The knife has a plastic handle and a very sharp stainless steel blade. The weight of it is a little light for my taste, and I wish it had a locking blade but otherwise a useful item to have at hand.

This really is an excellent, utilitarian pocket knife. It's very light, with a slim profile (see customer image). The blade is outstanding, and takes an edge very easily. A few swipes across a whetstone, and the oldest, most beat-up specimen of the florist knife that I have is razor sharp again and ready to go.

I was given a couple of these when I was a kid, by a family member who worked with flowers from time to time. I've used them for years, and never thrown one away. They are meant for work.

If you're kind of a minimalist, and just want a light blade that will go forever you won't regret investing in this Victorinox offering.

Light weight, razor sharp florist knife. We use it to trim & prune when re-potting orchids. Use where you need a very sharp knife. Please note: this blade doesn't lock so be careful. If you misuse this knife in such a way that you cause it to close on your flesh, you WILL give blood. It's light weight, not a machete, chefs knife or meat cleaver.
