I ordered this item and I am very pleased with it. It is very well built and I am looking forward to testing it on the field.

This knife has all the tools that the Ranger has plus pliers for extra 30 cents - that's why I decided to buy this one - it makes it a bit thicker though. What I miss is a philips screwdriver (it seems there is room to put it, but they decided not to), but I guess I could use the flat head on most philips heads.

It's a great product and I highlt recommend it.

I owned this multi-tool for years and made use of each function at least once. I've lost it since then and then was gifted an alternative multi-tool (a Gerber Vise) so I have not yet replaced it. The pliers are small and will not be of much use due to very little leverage because of its size, but all the other functions work great and Victorinox is a great brand that has been in the multi-tool business for a long time. I had done a lot of shopping around before deciding on this particular version and I was not disappointed. It's a great price for all its functions and I would willingly purchase a new one if I ever need to fill its niche again.

Before I bought the Handyman, I had purchased the Climber model, but wanted more tools than it offered. The Handyman contained some extra features that interested me, so I bought it and have enjoyed it immensely. Needless to say, this knife is trustworthy and durable because it is a Victorinox, but I can't say if this is the knife for you. There are many combinations of tools that are offered by Victorinox in other models, so this may not be the most useful choice for you. In my opinion, however, you get many convenient tools that can save you in many situations for a great value and in a compact form. I have had Swiss Army Knives since I was a kid and they are extremely useful wherever you happen to find yourself. My only complaint with this model is its bulkiness. It is about a third wider than the Climber and other lower end models.

I guess you can work around the missing screwdriver but when you look at the Swiss Champ for nearly the same price and the Champion Plus for under $50 if you skip the pliers, it is hard to see how this one justifies the cost. And the Deluxe Tinker, without the saws, comes in at under $40. If you want everything this one has, PLUS the Phillips, look at the Craftsman for a couple bucks less; you lose the corkscrew.

Oh, and they left out the miniature screwdriver as well, included on both Champ models.

Just make sure you don't collapse it on your finger when you are turning it.

Screwdrivers work well without dulling -- Knife blades keep and retain a sharp edge, can opener is great for the field. The metal saw is awesome, as is the metal file -- the wood saw is too -- I've been able to do some quick and fast cuts to furring strips or molding with pleasing (well, not professional, but good) results.

My only gripe and this has been the same -- with the many generations of Swiss Army knives that I have had in my lifetime -- is that spring on the scissors -- it breaks all too soon.

This is the way to go if you are looking for something that can handle everyday tasks and go off into the woods. I am going to buy another just in case I lose this great tool.

What to say, when it comes to useful objects I can't help to think Swiss Army Knifes. I've had one for about 10 years and it has been useful not only during trips but during my time in college. The only reason for me to buy a new one is that I sadly lost mine...
I recommend all kind of Victorinox Swiss Army knifes, but to me the Handyman model is the perfect combination between size and utility. It has more than you'll normally need but when you need those extra applications, belive me, you'll be happy you have them.

What a knife! This pocket tool screams quality - from it's mirror-smooth polish on the stainless steel, to the satisfying "snap" of the tools' closure and tactile feedback of the tools' opening. to the silky smooth glide of the pliers and scissors' handles as they are being used. The tools are very stable - no wobble to speak of in the handles of afore-mentioned pliers or scissors, and no wiggling in the 90º position of the cap lifter/large flathead driver combo tool. I'm extremely impressed by the refined attention to detail as well as the amount of tools packed into this compact form-factor of this knife. 24 useful tools in a pocketable arrangement (to me anyway - fits comfortably in my front jeans pockets when the tools are resting against my thigh, not the scales) is what you'll get with the purchase of this knife.
