I invested in two of these bags in black a couple of years ago. I've traveled internationally with them four times, and have used them a dozen times for domestic travel. I'm not hard on my luggage: I don't move around much once I've reached my destination, and I take care that its handled well. That said, I obviously have no control over what airline baggage handlers do with it. I chose this brand in hopes that its professed high quality would stand up to regular handling.

To its credit, the bag looks good and maneuvers very well. Its shape makes it easy to get into elevators, up and down stairs, into car trunks and onto shuttle buses. Its light weight and ample size allows me to pack more in. This is an important factor with baggage allowances going down and extra baggage fees going up.

However, there are two big problems with the quality:

    1. The plastic hardware securing the handles has popped off. The handles are also secured from below, so they're still in tact. However, their strength is now compromised. I fear it's only a matter of time before they work themselves loose.

    2. The fabric edges are wearing away, and in some places have completely worn through. Even if the fabric is tough -- and I'm not sure it is -- its design exposes these piped edges to considerable wear and tear.

I'm now faced with the inconvenience of a warranty repair, or the expense and inconvenience of an out-of-warranty repair. Neither option is good.

In all, I'm disappointed in the quality of this bag, especially given the price. I would not recommend it for anyone traveling on a plane.
