The moment you pick up the watch you identify a great sense of quality. The design is big and very readable. The silver, white and red are timeless colors that go well with any outfit. It has a little bit of depth to it which provides some added interest. The buttons and crown seem well made and band is heavy and durable. The brushed steel band looks masculine and appropriate for the watch. The double deployment clasp and half-links are a great addition. The large watch fits me well and has great "wrist presence".

As I mentioned, it is a large watch. 45mm means it gets noticed. It's heavy, but I like that. It's definitely a man's watch. For quality parts, accuracy and appearance I would easily give this watch a 5 out of 5. However, the chronograph is difficult to read because the dial (at 9 o'clock) lists both hours and minutes. It can time an event up to 12 hours, which is nice, but it is still difficult to read. The reason is that the minute value only go up to 30, so when it hits 31 minutes it's a little difficult to tell if it's been 1 hour and 31 minutes or just 31 minutes. Works fine, but in terms of usefulness, I've seen better. Also, the alarm is a nice feature to have, but I don't think I'll use it much either. It's impossible to set the alarm to an exact time. The instructions even admit this. It can be set to any time give or take 15 minutes. The luminescence of the hands are very bright, however the tiny lume dots by the numbers are almost non-existent.

Victorinox is an all Swiss made brand that watch aficionados give a lot of credit to. The accuracy and prestige that goes with an all Swiss watch can not be beat. If you don't really need the alarm or chronograph features (like the majority of people) and just want an accurate and very nice looking watch, then I highly recommend it. If you need a more functional watch, you should look elsewhere.

Victorinox watches are one of the greatest values in the industry. Rugged, handsome & precise, this watch functions as well as it looks. With a retail price of $725, it is one of the company's more expensive models, but it has the features to justify it: Swiss made, solid stainless steel case, caseback & bracelet, sapphire crystal, alarm, chronograph, date and tachymeter all without appearing over crowded. At 45mm, the watch is large, but it sits on a wrist well, and the bracelet's full and half sized links allow for a precise fit. This watch should last for decades to come, provided it is serviced by a proper Victorinox repair center who can ensure its water seal is properly maintained. This is not a timepiece you take to the local mall for a battery replacement.
Amazon has the best price by far, and while there is some question about warranty, this watch is assured to be ticking long after Victorinox's full warranty period has lapsed.

I bought my Vic 241282 this year in London on October 03. It's my first purchase on Amazon. Fast and safe delivery, good packaging, with all manuals, etc.

The box of Victorinox for this watch is a separate show! It's Amazing!

The watch is very, very beautiful! The numerals are large and easy to read. The dial is silver, although it may appear to be white in the photos.

The quality of material and finishing are excellent! I'm very meticulous and demanding and assure: they are excellent!!!
As for the weight, it may seem a little heavy at first but you get used to it. I don't have weighed exactly, but so do I put here the exact weight.

If you're worried about the size of the dial (45mm), because is possible so big: I have 18cm wrist and was very good. But I know this is very personal.

Ultimately, if you are looking for a functional watch, shapely, with a great quality and very beautiful: it is an excellent choice and I recommend it!!

OBS 1: The red hand refers to the seconds of the chronometer and not of hours. Just like the little silver dial next 9 hours, shows 1/10 of a second of the chronometer. So, if you're not using the chronometer, the red hand and the little silver dial will stay still. So this watch has no second hand of hours.

OBS 2: I've friends who also have this watch. Some have the luminescent hands and all markers (include the hours), others (like me) only the hands and the markers of the two little dials are luminescent, I do not know why... Although my 241282 have no luminescent hours markers, it's not fair don't give 5 stars to this watch, for all other many qualities he has.

    Highly recommended!!!

I spent months shopping for my new watch. I've only had the Victorinox 241282 for a week but so far have been very, very pleased. I really like the size, weight and design. I'm 5'9" and 180 lbs and it sits comfortably on my wrist. I can easily dress it up or down and the watch neatly fits under my button down dress shirts, which was an important consideration. In addition, this was one of the lessor expensive watches I found with Swiss Quartz movement and a sapphire crystal face.

I looked seriously at some of the Invictas, and might still get one just 'cause they seem cool, but they're too giant. I also considered the Tissot PRC200 and a few different Burberry watches. But again, am very pleased with my decision. I came pretty close to purchasing the Victorinox 241499 but after trying one on at a local store, realized that the watch face (40mm) was too small for me. The 241282 is 45mm and I'm much happier with the it was $100 cheaper!

There are some functionality issues with the watch, which prevented me from giving it 5 stars. None of its a big deal, and if you're anything like me, a watch is more about having a nice, classy piece of jewelry and less about performing fancy, time-related functions. That being said, I still don't really understand the alarm and other features of the watch, and even if I did, the sub-dials are so small that it'd be hard to accurately read them. But if I really need a timer, stop watch or alarm, I'm gonna use my iPhone.

Take it from a picky, analysis-paralysis type shopper...this is a cool watch!
