If you're considering this watch, then you're likely in one of two camps...

1) you're a watch fan who doesn't have an unlimited budget for that $3K watch you've been drooling over, but want a classic look and some added functionality (in this case, chrono and alarm), or...

2) you're in the market for a good looking watch and this one caught your eye, and hey, Victorinox is a respected, solid brand

[Ed Note: yeah, yeah, I know there are a million different things that could have brought you to this point, but just work with me here.]

In either case the thing you should know right away is that this is a BIG watch. It's a 45mm wide case, and that's not including the crown (winder). A sound piece of advice would be to make sure you can wear a watch this large: head to a jeweler and try on a 45mm watch and see what I mean. You don't want to spend the money on this (though the deals on Amazon, through reputable dealers, are spectacular) only to find that you're uncomfortable with the platter on your wrist.

The watch itself is a beauty: a wide, easily read face displays a nice array of information without appearing too crowded. Solidly crafted with a satisfying heft: the majority of the case and the band feature a brushed steel finish which thankfully keeps the flashy factor to a minimum. The double push-button deployment clasp feels safe, but is made rock-solid with the addition of a safety clip. I know I've had a watch come flying off in the middle of some physically grandiose gesture: it's a terrible feeling.

The watch appears to keep good time and the added functionality of an alarm is a blessing in a watch to be worn everyday. The bonus addition of the chrono is a nice touch, and they've successfully incorporated it in such a way that it doesn't take up the entire face as it does in some of their other models.

If you have the wrist for it, or simply like the look of a big watch, then this is the one for you, especially if you're looking for the practicality of an alarm and added functionality of a chrono built into a solid and stylish watch body.

The item was fullfilled by amazon quickly and on time. However, as it was sold by a 3rd party supplier, it did not come in the box shown in the picture nor did it include the original manual. The manual included is for 5 models, none of which include the alarm function, or calibration of the cronograph. Dissappointing when compared to other watches purchased directly from Amazon.

Very pleased with my purchase which was for a 21st birthday present for my son. On holiday in the US we had seen this watch for sale but were undecided at the time. Having returned I looked around to find the best price, however having paid $50 carriage and insurance and a further £60 COD to cover the VAT the price became less attractive. The watch needed a few links removed but I'm really pleased with the purchase and I'm looking at it lasting a lifetime. I'm happy with Primetime the supplier and would recommend them.

I bought this watch wanting a water proof, rugged watch with a alarm feature. Great watch and great quality. Worth every penny and very happy with it. The alarm feature is not easy to figure out, but I love everything else about the watch and the style. Looks great, feels great. Just gotta figure out the alarm feature> The owners manual gives you a clue, but it's not specific to this particular watch. Meaning it gives you a clue, but does not solve the crime. The same manual is probably used for ALL of their Victorinox watches, but with the added two button feature makes it a little complex.

In the market for a big watch that's reliable and backed by a solid, world-renowned company? This is perfect. Despite it's size, skillful craftsmanship is very apparent and elegance is not at all compromised. It's a definite eye-catcher. Victorinox has a winner in this one. Swiss precision and styling without breaking the bank.
