defective wristband, November 5, 2010
This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Men's 241290 Infantry Vintage Day/Date Watch (Watch)
The metal clasp on the wristband was defective. It came out of the holes, even after reinsertion twice. Finally I took it to a jeweler who drilled holes sufficiently deep to hold the clasp to the wristband.

Tampered Product, December 11, 2010
This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Men's 241290 Infantry Vintage Day/Date Watch (Watch)
This watch was bought as a gift. What an embarrassment! The watch leather bracelet was not the original one. It was switched with a cheap small one. Unfortunately the return window expired. I've been an Amazon customer for 12 years. This is very disappointing.

This watch is a classic as well as a classical watch, November 30, 2011
This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Men's 241290 Infantry Vintage Day/Date Watch (Watch)
I purchased this watch from Amazon in early 2010.
This was one of my most prized watches, I lost it due to travel about 2 months ago and I've purchased a second one to replace it.
I've had many different watches in my lifetime, maybe 95 watches, I'm a watch collector of sorts however, and you will never see a Rolex on my wrist as that's simply a California status symbol.
I currently own one Giuliano Mazzuoli, two Corums, one Bell & Ross, one Montblac, three ESQ's as well as a big brother to the ESQ's a Movado but my Vic...
Also I try to keep the price for my any of my watches below a monthly house payment accept for one watch and that was by sheer luck and that was still under 3500, granted if I was a millionaire it would be different (I'm getting there ;))
My Vic however is or was my wrist passion...
Because let's be honest, as men we have watches the same as women have purses.
Our watches are symbols of who we are ironically while women like or even love our watches its when another man appreciates your watch.
I'll strap on any of my watches depending on the week, month, or simply what business meeting I need to be in as we would never wear a Corum to a meeting where the people are Bell & Ross type men (hard working) and expect the same outcome.
However, when I simply leave my everyday Vic on, no matter what, I always know that this is a great looking watch and it sets a standard for appreciation from anyone that understand watches and what they represent.
The size of the watch is great, as I am 6' and my wrist is about 8"s so the 44mm case fits well for my frame.
The color is rugged and goes with most clothes; you can never really go wrong with drabs and browns as a man.
I recommend this watch as an everyday watch to ANY and EVERYONE looking for a single watch that would define them as who they wish to represent in life, even if that's not who you are but are trying to be.
To the people that are reviewing this watch with bad reviews, I would look more to receiving a knock off watch as being the issue then this being a bad watch.
You might wish to get the watch reviewed for authenticity and never trust anyone when you are buying watch sight unseen first.
For me...this watch is great.
