The rugged Swiss Army Men's Maverick II Chronograph Black Dial Watch is suitable for both outdoor enthusiasts and urban dwellers. The bold, black dial features Arabic numeral hour indexes, the Swiss Army logo at the 12 o'clock position, and wide, luminous silver-toned hands. Plus, it offers three subdials for chronograph function, a minute track around the inner perimeter, and an index from zero to 60 engraved on the unidirectional, black ion-plated stainless steel bezel. A sturdy, stainless steel case provides durability and strength, while a tough, black rubber watch strap is secured with a buckle clasp for added security. The anti-reflective, sapphire crystal provides ultimate scratch resistance. This watch is water resistant to 330 feet (100 meters) and offers the precision of Swiss quartz movement.
The Victorinox Swiss Army Story
In 1884, Karl Elsener opened a cutlery workshop in Ibach-Schwyz, Switzerland with the support of his mother Victoria. Just like that, Victorinox Swiss Army was born.
In 1891, Elsener and his coworkers deliver knives for soldiers in the Swiss Army for the first time. Six years later, the company legally protected the names Swiss "Officer's" and "Sport Knife." The model later became known as the Original Swiss Army Knife.
Following Elsener's mother's death in 1909, the company incorporated her name into the brand and unveiled its well-known cross and shield emblem. Elsener arrived at the name Victorinox by combining the name Victoria with "inox," an abbreviation of the French word for rust-resistant steel, "inoxydable."
In 1989, Victorinox officially entered the timepiece business in the United States under the brand name Swiss Army. In 1999, Victorinox partners with the American TRG Group in St. Louis and enters into the international travel gear market. In 2001, the company launched a fashion line in the U.S. with a collection that delivers technical and tailored styling capturing the brand’s essence of practical luxury. If that wasn't enough, in 2007 Victorinox sets up Victorinox Swiss Army Fragrance AG, and in 2009 Victorinox Swiss Unlimited was launched.

I have owned this watch for about a year now. It is simple, yet sophisticated.
It has been very accurate. It has kept pace with a wall atomic clock in my living room. Date window could use some magnifying but it's ok. It has a tiny LED that flashes every ten seconds This helps you find it in the dark. The button on left side illuminates the dial with a nice bluish hue for a clear view of the dial as when you are in the movie theater and need to know the time. People love this feature. but if you need to find something in the dark or the keyhole in your door, keep the same button pressed longer and a bright white led on top of the 12 O'clock mark will turn on or will flash if button pressed two times consecutively. Simple, easy to read dial, yet elegant. Can swim with it down to 50 meters. I am not a fan of rubber watchbands but I don't mind it on this watch So far, I am happy with it.
