Of all the many Swiss Army Knives I own, this is the most used. Not only is the Pocket Pal small enough to easily carry in a front jean's pocket, its simplicity makes it perfect for quick use for fruit peeling, paper cutting, and a whole host of tasks.

I was given one of these knifes my father when I graduated from high school to replace a cheap pocket knife I had recently broken.

I carried that knife and used it nearly daily for 23 years until I made the mistake of going to visit the Statue of Liberty last month, where after investing a lot of $ and 2 hours in line the Federal government in the infinite wisdom told me I had to turn it over for disposal or leave ... it was a very tough thing to do, but I turned it over.

I was kicking myself for weeks after everytime I put my hand in my pocket for my knife and re-discovered it was empty.

I looked at a lot of knives but couldn't find anything that was small enough to carry daily and still as useful as this knife. The combination of the small and large blades just can't be beat. Anything more is too bulky, and just a single blade isn't as useful.

I finally found this knife on a Boy Scout website in a Cub Scout edition (which is blue) and discovered it was called a "Pocket Pal" ... that is a VERY apt name.

I then searched on "Pocket Pal" and finally found it here on Amazon for a reasonable price. I bought 2. One is going to stay in it's original package unopened on my book case "in case of emergency", but the other is in my pocket, and I am a "happy camper" again.

Swiss army knives are simply one of the best pen knives around! I ended up shopping price and this was the best I could find.

This is one of my favorite Victorinox knives. I love its compact size and simple design. If you consider one of these look at the "Secretary" version - same size with Alox (metal) handles. If you want a knife that is a little larger, with two blades, look at the Bantam II. Even larger, the Pioneer Settler is an excellent choice.

Great knife. Small enough to be unobtrusive in the pocket, yet large enough to handle tougher(ish) jobs. I use mine at work to open boxes in lieu of a box-cutter and it's perfect for things like that. The only drawback to it is I would have liked a can/bottle opener, but you can get the "Bantam" if that's what you're looking for. I just liked the design of the Pocket Pal better, it was a little sleeker and I HATE that stupid keyring that Victorinox puts on most of their knives. Who's going to put a three inch long knife on a keyring? But I digress. Pick up a Pocket Pal, you won't be disappointed.

This Knife was a great buy. I use it for small tasks and whittling. It arrived fast. It was sharp and great quality. As always Victorinox has made an excellent pocket knife.

If you want/need a small knife to carry every day (and not scare anyone when you pull it out) this is the ONE. I've had one in my pocket for perhaps 20 years. I've lost one or two, so I have a spare stashed in a dresser drawer so I'll never be without one. The blades can be sharpened to where they are probably equal to a scalpel.

It's about as simple as they come: two blades and nothing fancy. But ... does it work ... oh ya ... every time. You know why ... because having with you at all times is effortless. I prefer this red Pocket Pal to the aluminum Secretary because the red version is thicker in the hand and pocket. I should say I am a long time, happy, repeat customer of Victorinox. I use the small blade for non-food cutting, and the large blade for cutting fruits and vegetables. These are the ever sharp Victorinox SS blades and as such will easily handle a myriad of activities. No fancy locking systems, no fancy assisted opening systems, not intended to intimidate in any way imaginable. Just a plain old, good old pocket knife still made in Switzerland, and with no degradation of quality or continuity. Victorinox is wonderful brand that stands for value-priced quality in all of its products. A definite buy for you, and for gifts.

My husband uses this at work to open boxes. Fits perfectly in his pocket and the price can not be beat.

Great knife - slim - sharp - not a problem to carry around.
