Product Description

The ultimate tool at home or in the outdoors, the Swiss Tool CS is in a league of it's own. The 37 stainless steel implements carry a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, and includes a leather belt pouch for easy service at your side. Individual springs hold other tools in place so you can access one tool at a time, and all implements can be opened from the outside of the handle without opening the pliers.

In my opinion, the SwissTool series are the best multi-tolls on the market. Stainless steel blades do not rust with only minimal care. The handles on the pliers are comfortable in your hand and the layout of the tools is excellent. There is also a good mix of tools that should cover most situations where using a multi-tool (instead of a "real tool")is appropriate.

One reviewer complained that the springs were cheap. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The springs are extremely durable and will give you years of service. I am in the U.S.Army and my SwissTool has taken more use and abuse than it should have and I have had NO PROBLEMS with it....ever. There is a burn mark on the head of he pliers where It got a little too close to an electrical connection on my Hummer, but that is my fault....

It is a fairly heavy tool, but that is because it is extremely well built. I have purchased and been issued other multi-tools frm Gerber, Leatherman and SOG and nothing compares to the quality and craftmanship of Swiss Army. I even have a Swiss Champ that I carry when I need something lighter than the SwissTool. Their quality can not be beat.

Reading reviews on multi-tools you will see many differing opinions on what is best. Everybody needs something different and NO MULTI-TOOL will serve every person's needs perfectly. For examlpe, I do not like Gerber tools, because the bottle opener is not long enough to easily open a Sam Adams. The SOG that I had rusted easily even though it had a black "rust proof" coating and you had to open a cover on the outside of the handles to get to the tools. Original Leatherman tools pinched my hands when I used the pliers.

The previous reviewer said that they were disappointed with the springs used in this tool but with a lifetime warranty this is hardly an issue. I have also used my metal file much i have even filed through padlocks and there is no ware on it. If you want needle nose pliars get a regular victorinox with tweezers.

My wife got me one of these years ago and this is indispensable for anyone who does any sort of maintenance or other outdoor work. I found it equally useful as a site manager and as a field entomologist and almost always have it on my belt "just in case" even when at home or in the office. It is sturdy and well made and I would have to really try to bend/warp it as I've done lesser multi-tools. The separate tool for driver bits makes the sheath rather large, but this tool, with my selection of bits, has been worth it enough to more than make up for the extra bulk.

First of all, this is an extremely stout tool. The only other multitools I have to compare it to are a Leatherman Wingman and a Schrade Tool, and the SwissTool X is noticeably heavier, probably due to the use of heavier duty stainless steel (to be fair, the Leatherman and Schrade are significantly less expensive). The entire CS kit which includes the hex bit set adds some extra bulk and weight to the belt, but it's not enough to cause your pants to fall down or anything. Just be aware that it's a fairly substantial package.

The SwissTool X itself looks to be well made with excellent fit and finish, which one expects from Victorinox. Corners and edges throughout are smooth and rounded which makes it generally nice to handle, something which I can not say about the Wingman which has one or two pointy bits on it. All the tools open easily, and each locks solidly into place. However, the action is not quite as buttery smooth as their Swiss Army Knives because you can feel the locking mechanism doing its thing, but that's just a nitpick rather than a serious criticism. That said, I do like the fact that all the tools except for the pliers are accessible while the tool is closed. This is not only convenient but allows the cutting edges of blades to lay flush with the sides instead of sticking out in the middle like multitools that hide their blades on the inside. This makes for easier cutting since you're not working against the tool's handles.

The locking feature is extremely nice and keeps the various implements from closing up on you which is a welcome safety feature. And since each tool has its own spring, you can open the individual tools without the others coming along for the ride.

This is truly a work of art, more than just a tool.

Every function is flawless and smooth, the tool has maintained perfect condition for quite some time, and I tend to be shy about using it, its just so elegant. Truly the tool of a professional. A perfect addition to any tool belt or bag!

This is beautiful! I love to hold it besides everything on it works great, too. It fits in your hand like a glove. The knife is very sharp. Well made in deed.

    - The FIRST to have tools accessible without having to open the pliers, yes, way before Leatherman. Nowadays it's considered the standard.
    - Super comfortable in the hands, especially when putting a lot of power into the pliers where most multi-tools show their weakness. The Leatherman I had before switching to my Victorinox SwissTool used to cut into my hands and if I torqued on the tool it would rack and lose it's grip... not so with the SwissTool.
    - Very firm, tight construction with no slop or wiggle but still easy to open all tools.
    - SOLID stainless steel construction which means almost zero maintenance required and absolutely zero corrosion. All of the pins and fasteners used to put the SwissTool together are smoothly recessed and/or flush fit. The body of the tool is polished helping it stay clean, it doesn't accumulate dirt and grime from your hands. Solid locking mechanism making it extra safe.

Can't say enough good things about the Victorinox SwissTool line of multi-tools. Superior design and quality of materials and construction. Simply the best and I wouldn't own any other multi-tool on the market. Find the SwissTool that matches your needs and BUY IT!!
