I don't wear a watch and know nothing about them, but I was able to choose this one as a gift for my husband with confidence because 1) he likes the Victorinox brand, and 2) even I can see it is a handsome watch. It's on the subtle side with enough character that it's not boring. The face is large (not bulky), which makes the band seem a bit narrow even though it is a standard size band. Packaging is really nice, so made for a nice "presentation" as a gift.
